Seen live quite by accident: a memorable evening chatting outside the venue.
Christian Death Only Theatre of Pain (25th Anniversary Remastered Edition)

Well, I have this record unremastered and it seems to me that it has a great sound, or at least a sound that I truly love even if I really know very little technically. Honestly, I can't think of anything to change or fix here.

This is a really great album in my opinion, light without being frivolous, and it’s listened to in one breath; it’s very evocative and, above all, it has no weak moments throughout its duration.

I didn't believe there was anyone who actually managed to read it all, revelations :-) Anyway, every time I see it in a bookstore, I'm tempted to buy it, but then I look at the price, think about Infinite Jest and Underworld, plus various other "little books" I have at home that I haven't read half a word of yet, and I get depressed, so I keep postponing the purchase to a time that's always farther away xD

It sounds like the tacky version of Radiohead.

Sorry, I meant Unico in the comment above, not Ultimo :-)

The last truly bad album they made is the latest one, the one by the mystics. Up until Amen, at least musically, they were quite cool. Then again, it's undeniable they have punchable faces, especially Bianconi. Just as it's undeniable that they are pretty incompetent live (except for the time I saw them).

Watched it last night and I really enjoyed it. All in all, I didn't find it boring at all; on the contrary, the time flew by. The only downside is Pattinson, who didn't entirely convince me at times.
Salem King Night

I remember that, not so much because of the hype, but I don't know, for some reason, I had always avoided this album. You know, like: yeah, I'll give it a listen, sure, and then nothing. I kind of forgot about it... then some time ago I got a fever and at home, in between things, I was rereading some old Rolling Stone magazines, and in one of them there was an interview with one of the Salem guys: about two and a half pages (I think) discussing drugs, prostitution to get drugs, horny cab drivers, lumberjacks hiding their homosexuality, and this guy who, by throwing out a "like" after another, made the interview feel very "surreal" and cinematic with an underlying tenderness too. Zero coldness. So, okay, I try to listen and, aside from a few cheesy moments, I find it to be a really great album overall. The rapping in some tracks is super cool. And I like this stuff where all the songs have a kind of underlying "calm."

Madonna concert. It's true, with the Flaming Lips you rediscover the child within you :-)
