Draconian Turning Season Within

It would be nice to always and only read sensible things in the comments. But it's not always possible. It's the rule of the game: you have to accept everything (or almost).
Thank you for the positive comments. I hope my review will lead you to listen to the album.
As for "Hell": I'm not in a Therion phase right now, but I promise that if no one else does it in the meantime, sooner or later you will read something of mine about the album you asked me for. Word.
Thanks again to everyone.

Funeral & Drone. What better pairing for everyone's ears?

I reluctantly have to admit that despite listening to it many times, this album has never said anything to me.
But I am biased. For my part, their peak is "Wildhoney," and nothing in their previous or subsequent discography comes close.
Well done, still, and anyway, to you.

Growling voice, snarling and powerful? Hell, I'm diving right in!
Bravo on my part as well. I’ll get them and then I’ll share my judgment.
AA.VV. Remastered - Metallica's Master Of Puppets Revisited

I doubt that Slayer would ever agree to cover a Metallica song. However, one could ask, but there’s a big question mark. The same goes for Anthrax. As for Megadeth, I’ll spend a few words. There is a version of "Battery" performed by the band back in the days of "Peace Sells..." if I'm not mistaken. In fact, it seems to me that the same song was composed by Mustaine when he was part of Metallica. But I wouldn’t want to blaspheme. What’s certain is that I’ve heard the song, and unfortunately, it’s worse than the original. I’m curious, however, to hear Machine Head in this light. I’ll see.

I had read about the collaboration between Johnsson and this band, but I never felt the urge to listen to them. Maybe I'll give them a try. By the way, speaking of side projects, have you ever listened to Demonoid? They are actually the same Therion or part of them under a different guise... Thanks for the tip, anyway.

Well, hell, Aniel! I had planned to maybe write about it, but I certainly wouldn’t have done better than this. And then, you know, ultimately it makes me happy not to be the only one in the world considering them sublime. I’m glad that others are writing about them too. It happened with Samael and then with Borknagar. It’s better to have many people discovering these bands; having the exclusivity (as some would like to claim) is truly anachronistic.

But look! Finally, I can say that I’m no longer the only one writing about Therion (I can just imagine the faces of those who have read my reviews of their albums: "Oh my God, here he is again with these guys! Ugh!"). Well, dear Memento, you came out with a nice review (the 4 for the score is only for the thought you express. Nothing else. The form is impeccable.) for a really nice album. You’re right to say that it’s not their best, because it’s not at all, since it always has to deal with the ā€œafter.ā€ That is, with ā€œTheli.ā€ But it still excellently conveys the idea of their talent. I would have left out the comment that some passages are a bit ā€œtackyā€ because I don’t see them that way. But these are venial sins, damn it! As for Johnsson's voice, I completely agree: he did well to step back, even though his growl, while not terrifying, wasn’t bad. But here, sounding more like a less angry Lars Goran Petrov, he could have spared our eardrums. Kudos to you as well. I hope to read your work again soon.
Opera IX The Black Opera: Symphoniae Mysteriorum in Laudem Tenebrarum

Even though I preferred Opera IX more in the post-Cadaveria era, I must say that this album also caught my attention at the time. I don't know why, but after listening to it for a while, I left it to its fate. Beautiful, certainly, but I believe that those from "Maleventum" are the best episodes of the Opera Alchemica. A second applause to you.

Well then. I am pleased to discover that there are those who, like me, love the T.o.T. of this album in the same way. Praise is due, therefore. I won’t say anything more about the album because, as Aniel has already pointed out, I've written quite a bit about it in due time, and it would be euphemistic to keep piling on. But you deserve a nice acknowledgment. Not only for the T.o.T., but also because I see that you've also reviewed my beloved Opera IX, so I can only welcome you. Regards.
