It's true, wow... friends, yes, it's a launching pad... they changed the original title just because they saw that they weren't getting famous even if they filled it with "buona domenica"! Let's hope this arrogant kid goes to Broadway, so he doesn't come back to Italy anymore...
Alfred Hitchcock Nodo Alla Gola

Well done! You saved yourself perfectly! And I agree with you: one could write pages about such a film, and as they say, too much of a good thing... the lighting is excellent (let's remember that this is his first color film) and the device of the flashing neon sign, well done, what an eye, is truly commendable (Hitch will use it, in a decidedly more pronounced and symbolic way, in 'Vertigo'). I don't know if you know that, by the way, Hitch had great discussions with the technician who had to deal with the lights. The sunset was too orange according to the master, and he reshot half the film for this reason (let's imagine what happened to the poor worker!)...

excellent review for an excellent film. I take the liberty to criticize one thing: the 'knot in the throat' is not suspense at all, on the contrary, as you say, but exactly textbook suspense! For Hitchcock, in fact, suspense is not given by not knowing the facts, but rather by putting the viewer in a position of knowing more than the characters involved. Hitch (as everyone seems to call him) did not appreciate the Agatha Christie-style development as it is precisely devoid of suspense. Other than that, the review is excellent, especially because it is written in true Italian, without the gross mobile phone language that is rampant on Debaser. As for the film, what can I say: I have always wondered why it did not please Hitchcock, because personally I find it truly excellent. Above all, the scene to remember is when the governess starts to clear the casket and prepares to put the books back inside. A moment of magnificent stylistic sobriety and great tension. I also find it necessary to mention the meticulous set construction work (designed with movable furniture to facilitate the passage of the camera) and the attention to lighting (during the film, it goes from dusk to evening with great effectiveness).
Woody Allen Harry A Pezzi

Woody Allen is a genius, and this is one of his best comedies. The idea of the blurred protagonist is absolutely unforgettable.
Chris Columbus Harry Potter e la camera dei segreti

It's incredible how this movie is for you the best of the saga and for me the worst... definitely the least successful, despite the clever direction of the cunning Columbus. Maybe I was let down by the final monster... come on, that thing has no bite! However, I wouldn’t criticize the entire saga with the ease that others do: we mustn't forget that the films in question are aimed at younger audiences, and I'm sure that the little ones appreciate them a lot. I mean, when I was a kid, I adored 'The NeverEnding Story'; it made me dream and I could relate to it (Atreyu was super cool), but now I realize that from a directorial standpoint it was a total mess.

from Wikipedia: Gabriel Yared (Beirut, Lebanon, October 7, 1949) is a French composer known for his soundtracks. He wrote the music for the French films Betty Blue and Camille Claudel. He later began working in the United States, winning the Oscar for The English Patient and receiving nominations for The Talented Mr. Ripley and Cold Mountain.

this album should be listened to for the arrangements, I completely agree with you. very interesting and 'international' reinterpretations that in some cases would surely amaze bjork ('non è francesca' is really experimental and light years away from the original tune). the result may be appreciated or not, like all albums, but one cannot deny the great professionalism behind it.

beautiful beautiful beautiful. well done well done well done. 'enjoy the silence', 'i'm not in love' and 'i don't like mondays' the most beautiful. but overall it’s a very interesting album, for all lovers of music at 360°.
