Kurt Weill Die Dreigroschenoper (Opera da Tre Soldi)
Voto:
Brecht represented humanity like few others and did so in his own way, aimed at unveiling the deceptions of life while canceling/revealing even the conventions of theater. For me, his plays, his poems, and his aphorisms are something indispensable. The connection with music is an added element in this picture. Weill's music perfectly complements Brecht to the point that it's hard to think of these names without associating them. Then - as we discussed - there’s also Paul Dessau among Brecht's musicians, but that's another story. I also endorse Odradek's suggestion to listen to the CD "Lost in the Stars," but there are indeed many records that stem from this vein; I’ll leave another one dear to me, a record from about a decade ago: "Tethered Moon - Play Kurt Weill" (Gary Peacock - double bass, Paul Motian - drums, Masabumi Kikuchi - piano). Bye.

A record I would have liked to review; after reading the review, I went in search of it. It took a while, but I finally heard it. Only once so far, but I must say it left a wonderful impression on me: dark, intense, strong... but there's no need to add more; it's all already in the review. Bye.

The second volume of this project has just been released, but I haven't had a chance to listen to it. I only read that it is structured in the same way as this one, and so far I've only found positive reactions. Hi.

Advice accepted, damn... as for fishing, I’m waiting for the maestrale to stop blowing so we don't end up losing our feathers, but maybe it would be wise not to wish for "good fishing" (but fuck... may you be cursed...) :)) Navigate without a compass Socrates is better :))

I also join the tribute for this "review 'Differenziale – Monosupporto – Eterozigote'" :) and the related homage to jazz itself. Hi :)

Sorry for the absence, I was fishing and I think I will be less present in the coming weeks. A collective greeting and thanks to all the readers for your comments, contributions, and everything else. Collective because I'm a bit shattered, but I have read you all with great attention. Two very quick responses to raised interest points: 1. musicians on this album: - Stephen Marcussen Mastering :: - Skerik Baritone Sax, Tenor Sax, Horn Arrangements :: - Gabby La La: Sitar, Theremin :: - Les Claypool: Banjo, Bass, Guitar, Vocals, Drums, Percussion :: - Mike Dillon Drums, Vibraphone, Tabla, Marimba 2. damn... I figured you were considering it for your review knowing you, in fact, I waited several days before sending it, but since it didn't come, here it is, that's all :) :: 3. zaireeka don't worry :) :: 4. if anyone hasn't noticed (I'm referring to those who don't know the album) pay attention to the links in the text, there are two complete mp3s and a generous sample of "One Better" which I think deserve a good listen and give a fairly clear idea of the stylistic tone of this beautiful album, which I believe is one of the most interesting releases of the year. Hi everyone and enjoy your dinner ;)

Yeah ... it's not a stellar album, nice but not overly interesting.
