I really appreciated the structured nature of this review—precise, balanced, but by no means cold. A nice page for comments as well.

Bill Evans Turn Out The Stars

I was unaware of the existence of this box set, and I must say it tempts me quite a bit because Bill Evans is undoubtedly a must-have that gives you the confidence of never making a mistake, much like reading certain bold reviews :))

Dear Dave, yours is a double-edged question; in fact, I could say "and why did you give him five?" And then "why did you forget Shleep?" But then, if you really think about it, what sense do these questions make? Haloa

Giacomo Puccini Tosca
Voto:
Several years ago, I had the fortune of witnessing the staging of Tosca from backstage as a stage manager. It was a wonderful experience. The extras were a group of sharp young people, perhaps a bit undisciplined, but that was normal at that age. We worked and participated in rehearsals. I remember how we were all enchanted listening to the opera dozens of times during those days of true confinement at the theater until the early hours of the morning. I still recall the incredible charm of the first act when Scarpia sings "Va Tosca nel tuo cuore si annida Scarpia," and how the music accompanied the unfolding of the story. And the "Te deum" sent chills down our spines every time, no escape. What a marvelous opera... As much as grades hold relative importance, it’s absurd to even think that this record and this opera don’t deserve the highest praise. This version that you proposed, dear Maria Elena, is also wonderful. I bought it in a reissue as a gift after that experience, during which the kids and I had a blast and became friends. Among them, today I want to remember Lorenzo because in 2005 he lost his life in a bizarre and unfortunate car accident while coming back from Olbia where he worked as a substitute Philosophy teacher. I hope he is close to your father now and that they are listening to us. Goodbye.

There would be so many things to say, but I feel a bit empty today, so I’ll just leave you with a thank you and a shower of samples; the words can come another time. Bye.

I’ve seen Piero Marras in concert many times; not everything he does appeals to me, but I’ve always found his personality likable, sincere, and full of life. Rundinedda rundinedda ... Vì when you pass through Sardinia, I’ll buy you a glass of Rocca Rubia from 2001 haloa.
