I didn't quite understand what Indietronica is, but the review resonated with my melancholic soul. I will trust it.

Brahms? Having been Beethoven's heir and the continuer of the symphonic tradition, he can only reside in the pantheon of composers.

1. If you hear "stuff like Bach by the thousands," it's because Bach existed before that "stuff." 2. Bach and the double bass. I'm not a history expert, but Bach probably didn't write pieces for the double bass just because it didn't exist in his time (if anyone has more precise information on this, please share). Anyway, considering him an asshole for this reason seems exceedingly unkind. 3. If you feel forced, why are you going to the conservatory?? 4. Classical music and social themes. By itself, it doesn't seem like a valid reason, and it's not even entirely true. I recommend listening to Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and Fidelio, not to mention the twentieth century. 5. "the voice is not considered much, and the search for melody is at least rare" ... are you kidding??? Come on. Let's put a veil of pity over this statement. 6. On musical free will. What does it mean that you can't choose, that you have to listen only to what is proposed to you? Come on. Maybe you can't decide at the conservatory, but you can easily walk into a record store, you can download whatever you want with Winmx and others, you can borrow something from a friend, can't you? Just a bit of curiosity is all it takes.

I disagree. I've found myself listening to an album at different times and having different feelings about it. Music (in my case) cannot be separated from the moods of each day because I'm not an objective listener, but an instinctive one. There are many albums, moreover, that require greater attention and consequently more time to be appreciated. Anyway, to each their own instinct.

Clearly, in the previous message there is a mistake, unless Sallu feels compelled twice.

It is undeniable the contribution of Satie to ambient and new age music. And I also appreciate the author of Gymnopédies. Likewise, I can enjoy listening to "Rhapsody in Blue," which I find hard to classify as easy listening. However, the role of Bach in the history of music is infinitely and objectively more important. Beethoven himself said that Bach is not a stream (Bach in German indeed means stream), but an ocean. It is therefore at least bizarre that a conservatory student does not recognize its beauty, value, and historical placement (see Baroque or not Baroque), just as it is troubling to know that they feel compelled to listen to "classical" music (I use quotes because I find the generalization of the term "classical music" inappropriate) simply because they have to. Anyway, ask some of your professors what they think about "The Well-Tempered Clavier" and then let me know. Regards.

Hello, I would be curious to know which works from the vast musical production of JS Bach have bored you. Is it possible that there's nothing that interests you? Not even the air on the 4th string? Goodness! I think you're mistaken about the Baroque.
