I have only a vague knowledge of it too. These reviews are therefore extremely useful to me. Anyway, at this point, someone should also review the uzeda.

And surely he did not disdain listening to "Non al denaro nè all'amore nè al cielo" by De André.

Putting aside the political aspect, I think Basile has listened to a lot of Claudio Lolli. At times, he reminds me of the atmospheres of "Disoccupate le strade dai sogni." It might also be because of that way of singing... sometimes almost performed. There's one song in particular that brought this to my mind: Apocrifo. Regards.

"An August firefly" doesn't seem to talk about peripatetics. So don't buy it.

(continues) The same that led him to keep a job at the state railways of Cuneo (unless he abandoned it recently), despite having already played at the Olympia in Paris. The French indeed call him the station master. But can you picture Eros with a whistle in his mouth? In short, I can understand that Testa might not be to everyone's taste, but it doesn't seem fair to lump him together with the Sanremo pop scene. At least so far, he has always kept his distance from that kind of music. In the future, who knows what could happen.

I see "a bit" of a difference between Ramazzotti and Testa for several reasons. Fundamentally cultural ones. First of all, they seem musically distant to me. Also because Testa loves to surround himself with musicians who have nothing to do with the Italian pop scene (Enzo Pietropaoli, Paolo Fresu, Rita Marcotulli, for example). Moreover, Testa enjoys taking on difficult and non-commercial musical projects, like the tribute to Leo Ferrè that toured the theaters of Italy and France this spring. The second point is love. It doesn't seem like a reason for affinity. I find it a bit generic to identify it as a common reason. As I mentioned in the review, you can talk about love in many ways. For example, Luigi Tenco and Piero Ciampi also spoke a lot about love in their lyrics, but I don't see any affinity with Ramazzotti. Regarding this, the only similarity I recall with Italian pop consists of a theft. Do you remember "il mare impetuoso al tramonto salì sulla luna e dietro una tendina di stelle se la chiavò"? Those words are from Piero Ciampi. The third point is that I don't have an in-depth knowledge of the "Eros phenomenon," but I find his songs a bit simplistic, if not downright crude, while I find Testa's songs to be more refined. Another difference, in my opinion, is the presence of his peasant culture in Testa's songs. (continua)
