I listened to it yesterday. It positively surprised me. Really a beautiful album in direct continuity with For the stars. I didn't know about his connection with Diana Krall, but she must have had some influence on Costello. For now, I can't get it, but it will definitely be one of my next purchases. The only thing that bothers me is that Deutsche didn't include the translation of the lyrics in Italian in the booklet, as it used to do in the past. Oh well... where did I put the dictionary? Bye.

I describe the Travis well, but they don't blow me away. I don't think I'll be getting this album. Anyway, they deserve a 5 just for their stance against the war in Iraq. Bye

Regardless of paternity and originality, the opinions expressed so far are quite clear, Mr_Iko. It is true, perhaps we should delve deeper, but I don't believe that will happen for now. Best regards.

As for the rest, melody, girls, take that, we simply disagree. I find your analysis very superficial and full of prejudices. I understand that their music may not be to everyone's taste, and it can be deemed insignificant. This is ABSOLUTELY LEGITIMATE. These are matters that are not up for debate. But reducing the discussion to Beatles = Take That seems excessive to me. With all due respect to Take That, the Beatles are something else entirely. That the Beatles characterized an era, that they influenced subsequent ones, and that their songs have become part of the collective imagination is hard to contradict. You yourself say you know their songs without ever having listened to or bought one of their records; what's the reason? Just marketing? Are you really sure? And why did it work so well for the Beatles and not for others? I don't know if in 15 or 20 years we'll be singing Take That songs (I hope not), but I believe that some of the Beatles' songs will still be sung.
