They kept me company for the last 3 hours over 260 km .. I adore this album from start to finish. Every time I listen to it, I find something new, a detail I hadn’t noticed before. And I still have no idea what the hell they’re playing. I didn’t want to read the booklet and I love asking myself "but how did they invent that whistle, that hiss? and that percussion? what could it be? A tin lid? who knows" For me, it’s already one of the albums of the year. Hi K... and don’t put yourself down, the review is great, especially since reviewing this album was a real hassle. Bye

A little explanation. I didn’t think about Ferretti Frantz at all. To be honest, I barely thought about it. I just put on the headphones, started the record, and began to write impulsively, instinctively, quickly without over-rationalizing, without reading and re-reading like I usually do. Without asking myself millions of questions. Except one. "So... do you like it?" Yes, I like it a lot. I wanted to experiment with a different way of reviewing a record. That’s all. Greetings to everyone :D ... except to the asshole above, obviously ;)

Anyway, I don't mind the Pastoral. A long time ago, it helped me study Latin... Tytire tu patulae recubans sub tegmine fagi. What was it? Virgil? Well. It's true that the fifth and the ninth are something else. But my favorite remains the seventh. I believe Wagner called it the apotheosis of dance. Fabulous, exhilarating! I'm going to listen to it again tonight. And you dear jAMIEmUIRfanc, don't take it personally. When you come in with guns blazing, you usually don't get a thank you. That "and I'm a stud" was an invitation for some irresistible nonsense. So if the discussion went off track, you're not blameless. I hope you get to see DeJohnette in concert soon; it's truly worth it. Bye.

15 years? Reading your profile, I find it hard to believe. It doesn't really matter anyway. Welcome again.

Indeed, hearing Jack De Johnette play the piano is astonishing. I happened to catch him in concert with J. Surman... spectacular, just like this album that I had forgotten about. I need to rediscover it. I will. The length of the review, to be honest, doesn’t encourage reading, but I managed to make it to the end :)) Welcome anyway (fourth ECM album on Debaser I believe... still too few :) Regards

Improves with every listen. It’s one of the most beautiful albums of 2003 for me. You’re right, it's sublime, but scar ... I still find it unattainable. Maybe in a few months I’ll change my mind. I feel a little envy for the complete discography :) Bye
