There is no absolute truth. The objectivity of value judgments is a myth because all value judgments are valid in their subjectivity. A value judgment does not express the truth but a truth, which seeks consensus and sometimes finds disapproval precisely because of the existence and multitude of different judgments. Consensus and disapproval, however, represent the most important moment because they allow those who have made a judgment to reconsider it and possibly change it in light of other opinions that provide a different and broader perspective. I don’t understand, therefore, those who criticize reviews for "lack of objectivity," because they cannot possess it unless they reduce themselves to mere reporting, an enumeration of factual judgments and not value judgments. My impression is that those who accuse of "lack of objectivity" elevate their own judgment to an absolute value. It happens to everyone. I often realize it when I am challenged in my strongest beliefs. But I try to remember (and it doesn’t always happen) that if in judging one considers themselves the guardian of truth and not of a truth, then it makes no sense to seek confrontation. In any case, the post by brkkk expresses a position, a judgment, a value that is right and valid, but in its subjectivity. Like those of everyone else. But this is just my opinion. Ps: I adore Bob Dylan, and on July 10, 1982, Italy played Germany in the World Cup in Spain, without spitting.

Conversely, if I say that Bob Dylan is boring, we cannot use the categories of true and false in the same way. In fact, the fact that others may find him enjoyable does not exclude the possibility that I might still find him boring. Both statements are true and valid despite being in conflict. An opinion expresses an evaluation based on subjective values. It expresses a value judgment. A value judgment is not objective by definition, but subjective. (continues)

What is the difference between chronicle and judgment? The chronicle focuses on descriptions of facts, events, and situations that are, in principle, verifiable. If you like, you could say that the chronicle is based on the so-called five Ws (Who, Where, When, What, Why). Judgment, on the other hand, expresses an opinion built on individual and subjective values. This distinction is not without consequences. In fact, if I assert that Bob Dylan was born in Spain on July 10, 1982, there are two possibilities: it is either true or false (complicating matters, we could say partially true and/or partially false, because in any case, Bob Dylan was born). This album is beautiful Nick :))) I'm really glad you got it and that you liked it. However, I think it's very different from Scar because it doesn't capture you immediately with the same energy. Yet, little by little, listen after listen, new nuances always emerge, and it becomes an unforgettable album. Not once have I been bored while listening to it. Among the tracks, I love This Afternoon and Sold, although it's hard to choose among so many beautiful songs linked together in a way that couldn't be any different. There’s an evident logic in the choice of the sequence. That said, I still prefer and love Scar (which I can't find anymore and you have no idea how much that saddens me), but it must be said that among the reasons that make an album unforgettable, many, if not all, are very personal and subjective, as they relate to the passage of our days. That's how it was for Scar. Tiny Voices has had a different story for me, still beautiful. Ciao Nick.
