Yesterday I listened to it; perhaps I don't have all the necessary background knowledge to fully appreciate its nuances, but I liked it musically. I need to pay more attention to the lyrics in order to say something more. As for the debate on partisans, I believe that holdencaulfield is right to recognize, on one hand, the moral value of the resistance, and on the other hand, the truly indispensable role of the United States in liberation. Serge Gainsbourg, Francois Truffaut, and Daniel Pennac... not bad for having a bad relationship with France. In French music, there are so many old gems that it's nice to rediscover from time to time: Leo Ferrè, Edith Piaf (my favorite track is "Non, je ne regrette rien"), Boris Vian (the disertore, je suis snob is beautiful), Georges Brassens, Jacques Brel (okay, Belgian-French... what a lovely "Ne me quitte pas"). Discovering more, exploring new paths can only be a pleasure. Thx

A wonderful record, listened to countless times, quite a while ago but never forgotten. I had also thought about reviewing it. Unfortunately, I don’t own it on CD; I only have an old tape recorded from the vinyl a century ago.

the Glenn Gould of sampling?? "Hip hop meets funk, classic, electro, rock, jazz, latin, prog, avangarde, soul???" Wow taunus. Tonight I'll listen to the samples, but if only half of what you say is true, I think they'll confirm the great impression I got from reading the review. Bye

Overall (I and II) did you like the movie, Michele? I did, although, with time, I've come to feel that the film has "dragged on" a bit too much. Bye

Exactly Michele, yesterday I was rereading the story, Faber wanted to talk and instead those around him emanated superficiality; he told them all to fuck off before getting drunk and writing the song... The party, just so you know, was in Portobello di Gallura. Anyone who knows the place (and the usual vacationers) can understand the atmosphere of that evening. Not much has changed since then. Bye.

It's hard to say which is the best for me, michele, anyway you're right in saying that vol. 8 is a great album and "amico fragile" is an incredible song. If I remember correctly, De André wrote it after a bender... I'll check and let you know if you're interested. Bye.
