R.E.M. Around the Sun

Already mentioned in the other review. The album leaves me rather cold; yesterday, in honor of Francis, I tried to listen to it again, but it just doesn't grab me. Bye.

I don't know for certain, but in the past, your advice has never disappointed me. For the record: I trust you. I'm taking note.

Well, you know Francis, as you yourself said, we perceive music in different ways. After listening to this album, I can say I didn't feel a single emotion; I found it flat and trivial. A string of songs neither beautiful nor ugly. Tasteless. In truth, R.E.M. has never been a particular passion of mine, but I've always enjoyed listening to them, respecting their work. In short, I've always found something good in them, even if I wasn't overly excited. In their career, there are some songs that I find truly beautiful and unforgettable. This time, however, it seems to me that this work falls into the contractual obligations with the record label. Little passion, in short. No melody struck my heart. Anyway, now I'll try to listen to it again, always ready to change my mind. (Play). Here it goes. The review, although it doesn't align with my idea of this album, is nice, certainly better than Jeff Buckley's (a bit gratuitous in my opinion). Bye.

Well... we are on diametrically opposed positions, but that matters little. Honestly, I'm not so convinced that the review isn't a gag, a provocation. It's clear that you don't like this album, and that seems normal and fair to me, but the way you expressed your opinion feels a bit forced. In short, I feel aligned with easy's judgment. Hi
