Why do you say that? I haven't noticed any plagiarism in his albums, but I might not have seen them. Are there any? Or are you referring to the fact that many consider Gianmaria Testa a sort of carbon copy of a Conte/Fossati crossover? I don’t know, it always seemed to me like an unfair and excessive statement. I was just talking about this yesterday with a musician friend who thinks that way. While acknowledging evident references to that musical tradition in Testa's work, I don’t see a photocopy in his music. Some characteristics in the way he arranges melodies and lyrics have a stamp that is uniquely Testa's. But maybe I’m wrong. As usual: points of view. It's nice to talk about it. Bye :)

:) it's a method I know zaireeka. I also find it hard to pinpoint the albums I love the most; the other day I listened to rain dogs again after a long time, and I couldn't stop the CD. There are few musicians who have this effect on me. Thanks for the comment zaireeka, bye.

Well done Enrica, your review reads like a breath and clearly shows how much you enjoy this music; I only know the nice, easy, catchy single from the album; I liked the previous album, and from what you say this one doesn't seem bad either. I also like them, especially for the concert at Piazza San Giovanni. I don't think I'll buy it, but I'll find a way to listen to it. Bye

I got it on Saturday and I've been listening to it for a couple of days, a nice album, very different from what I expected. I actually thought I would find a mix of jazz and electronics, instead it feels more like a record from over thirty years ago. A bit cheeky, true, but very enjoyable and refined. Atmospheres that you evoke well in your review, cheers.

Every now and then I listen to it again, yes you’re right: it’s a “desert island” album. Good luck with your CD store and the club. Even after some time, it hasn’t lost any of its charm; Coleman’s sax is always a thrill. I hope you manage to find it for your CD store, I was told it’s out of print, but I hope they were mistaken.
