The Beatles Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

I don't want to be mistaken, but it seems to me that Paul McCartney himself praised Joe Cocker's rendition. But in the end, that's not so important. I don't take away value from the original; I just say that - like it or not - Joe Cocker's rendition is historical and immortal, at least as much as the original. You may not like it, but that's a whole different conversation.

No Socrates, besides all the music magazines, this CD has been liked by Nick and you, and I believe by many others who might even come to say so here. Hi :))
Fabrizio De André Storia di un impiegato

So much to say and so little time... it's a beautiful album that, however – unlike others – suffers from the need to be contextualized to be fully understood, while still maintaining the presence of some central themes of De André's work that will recur throughout his career, particularly the relationship between man and power. Beyond the beautiful "canzone di maggio," there is a line from this album that I particularly love: "once a judge like me / judged who had dictated the law to him / first they changed the judge / and soon after / the law." I also wanted to remember that in addition to Piovani for the music, this album saw the collaboration of Giuseppe Bentivoglio for the lyrics. Bye.

I have only heard praises for this album; a bit of healthy hate every now and then does good :) may a boulder fall on my head from an overpass if it's not true.

Scaruffi's positions on the Beatles are an enlightening example of what it means to be intellectually dishonest by deliberately omitting arguments that contrast with his preconceived theses (= when analysis becomes prejudice and one wants to pass off opinions as facts).
Francesco Guccini D'amore di morte e di altre sciocchezze
Voto:
There are some interesting episodes in this record; some remind me of the most beautiful aspects of Guccini's intimate style (Vorrei), but songs like "quattro stracci" and "cyrano" (the new Avvelenata they said...) seem to be permeated by a somewhat stale anger, if not a kind of resentment. It’s a slightly weak album overall, although I must say that if it weren't by Guccini, I might have had a different, better judgment. It’s useless; freeing oneself from the image of the musician that everyone creates over the years is not easy. The history that Guccini has behind him is too imposing, so while listening to "i fichi," it’s inevitable to think back to "talking sul sesso," and with the notes of "cirano," it comes to mind that the avvelenata exists, and in the end, one realizes that a lot of water has really passed under the bridges.

I read it, but I understood little. I understood that it’s an Italian band, but who are they? Is this their first album? I tried to take a look at their website, but it doesn't work. Hi.

True, it also applies to rock, but the problem isn't the lack of originality; it's the perception of artifice in my opinion. In fact, that's why I talk about over-arrangements. The cake metaphor is perfect, but I see it like this: they followed the entire procedure well, but evidently they didn't have all the right ingredients, so they used others to compensate for the lack, and in the end, the result is always a cake, but with a completely different flavor. So I'll enjoy Grandma Duck's cake :)) Then, regarding the idea that everything has already been done, that was also said after Beethoven. The symphony was said to be dead, yet then came Brahms, Mahler, and so on. Bye :) [Nick, you have a good memory :) ]
