Yes, I also like this review; for me, it’s a beautiful album, "across the universe" alone would be enough. One thing, though: reading the review, it seems that "The long and winding road" was written by Harrison, while I remembered it being McCartney. Bye.

I forgot the quotes in the supporting character Odradek ... well, speaking of lists, I'm heading to the bookstore now, bye :))

"One thing is certain: they had a strong sociocultural impact for many different reasons." That's enough. In my opinion, Scaruffi underestimates (and you do too, after all) this aspect. It's the argumentative method that I don't like. It's biased from the start. Sociocultural impacts are not trivial; they carry significant influences. I do not think it's an issue of primacy (who did what first), but rather of the ability to spread and the temporal persistence of the Baronet's music, which has become part of the collective imagination (and has remained there). Attributing this fact to marketing, for me, is a reading tainted by an initial prejudice. Then again, the Beatles may not appeal to everyone, and that's not up for discussion, of course.

I'm still taking notes :) thx for the metalhead interlude. Tonight I will also do like kosmo: my trusted bookstore. Anyway, yes, massimof was clear, I imagined it, and I believe we understood each other perfectly. And speaking of Paris Texas, if you get the chance, give a listen to Belladonna by Daniel Lanois (Anti 2005), a very evocative instrumental album for some "desert" settings, indeed, the pedal steel and a few exceptional supporting artists (Brad Mehldau). Not straightforward but interesting, to be evaluated calmly.

Great recommendation, I’ll take it as background music while rereading Persepolis.

Strange that the reference to Buckley hasn’t sparked any interest... it seems like a really great album... a couple of samples wouldn’t hurt here either.
