Yes, I also thought about the coincidences :) and it makes me smile a little because JohnOfPatmos in his review uses the adjective "telepathic." Anyway, I have a feeling, Odradek, that you won't appreciate this work either, except for the arrangements and Pieranunzi's piano. Paradoxically, you can't listen to it thinking about Tenco's voice, and I've noticed that this album divides quite a bit between enthusiasts and detractors. I'll do my best for the samples.

A quick reply, you're not wrong logic, but it's still a bitter charm; however, for me, it alone isn't enough to grant immortality. Regarding the issue of contamination, Grasshopper, you aren't mistaken either, but in this case, the distance is short for me; after all, Tenco himself loved jazz, played the sax, and many of his songs lend themselves to reinterpretations of this kind, although it must be said that in this case they are very measured. Montellanico's voice may not appeal to everyone, some may find it emphatic, but I appreciated the spirit she brought to this work. As for Pieranunzi, there's no discussion. Bye and thanks :)

Special Encounter is a wonderful Odradek album that directly continues the legacy of Fellini Jazz. The trio's lineup with Motian, Haden, and Pieranunzi should be enough, but I assure you it’s one of the most beautiful jazz albums I’ve heard this year. As for Doorways, I'm not familiar with it (due to the aforementioned budget constraints), and I can’t help but say "too bad" after reading John’s lovely description.

Thanks for the tip antoniodeste, it really seems like a gem. I'm quite intrigued by the connection with Nils Petter Molvaer too. Hi :)
Charlie Haden & Pat Metheny Beyond The Missouri Sky

I agree with the feelings; in this case, I see the contribution of both, as I mentioned. A note about a mistake I noticed while rereading: "Our Spanish Love Song" is by Haden, not Metheny. Bye :)
Charlie Haden & Pat Metheny Beyond The Missouri Sky

Beyond The Missouri Sky is an album that equally belongs to Haden and Metheny; considering it a masterpiece of the latter makes little sense. In reality, it's a unique record in the discographies of both, an episode that is, in some ways, unusual. The review lacks a fundamental adjective to understand it: acoustic. It also misses a reference to the rich sound of Haden's double bass, which is the backbone of Metheny's explorations. Moreover, it would have been interesting to contextualize the discussion a bit, perhaps mentioning that the two nurtured this project without rush for over two decades, that the Missouri sky connects them both, that they are great friends (Message to a Friend was written by Metheny for Haden), and that this music indeed celebrates their friendship. It’s a very intense work that contains magnificent tracks, like the concluding "Spiritual." But it is also "a labor of love"; I think of Haden's "Waltz for Ruth," dedicated to his wife Ruth Cameron, as well as Metheny's "Our Spanish Love Songs" in an acoustic version that is truly delicate. It's an album that, since its release about eight years ago, has returned frequently to my player and will continue to do so.

A record made with great professionalism, listened to back then, today it has been gathering dust for years and will continue to do so. However, the "calling elvis" video was really nice :) At this point, Claudio, you’re missing the live "on the night," the mini LP "twisting by the pools," and the official discography seems to be closed :) I’m curious to see your next proposals, bye.
