Paolo Conte Elegia

Frantz, I saw Conte live about a year ago and I also felt some fatigue every now and then; you are certainly right. After all, the years go by, but it was still a wonderful evening.

I searched for something online, Frantz, and you know what? I actually don't mind it, even though it’s not really my style (even if I still haven’t figured out what that is). Anyway, I had already heard something, but I couldn’t remember... too much stuff. But in the end, for me, it's a handmade record. Psycho may have been chosen for the editor's choice also because it’s a new release, look at it this way... new stuff doesn’t come by very often, so a little spotlight on what the music market offers isn’t a bad thing. Bye :)

Yes, I had already read about Monk & Coltrane, another CD waiting... ah, but I'm not complaining :)) especially since something from other jazz genres is coming out too, I got "round about midnight" deluxe version with a spine-tingling live on the second CD!! Yes, I'm not complaining, except for your stubbornness in not wanting to write the review that you're nibbling at here :))

This operation leaves me a bit perplexed... why did Waters approach the lyrics? Well...

One could always live in such indecisions in front of a beautiful discography like Conte's.

Yes, it's true, it's a different vision, a beautiful vision. I also consider it a magnificent album; I felt it was different from the past in some respects, but that doesn't mean it's less beautiful. In the end, it's always about nuances. If only there were more albums and artists like this, you're right Grasshopper :)

Are you using the plural majestatis with me? No, because I don't see Mr. Scaruffi having an absolute monopoly on the discovery of Lisa Germano. Also, it would occasionally be interesting to read some of your opinions on the Beatles instead of having to see these boring references to a guru... but who cares about Scaruffi anyway? As for this album, for me (two magic words) it is an essential point of reference in music; I've already said a lot in other reviews. Perhaps in this case it’s not essential, indeed there is so much in this double album. Then - with all due respect - everyone can hold on to their own opinion or those of others if they don’t have their own.

And write the review, mandrone ;))) As for Miles, indeed, the intent was precisely that, and it seems it was working great. The funny thing is that he kept it going on stage, the sly bastard, getting close to Gary and saying, "but why is Keith looking at you like that?" and a second before he'd told Jarrett the same thing. And the two of them just kept looking at each other suspiciously :)) Now they need to release some recordings of that super-group; I can't wait to hear the sparks in the music ;)

I don't know how relevant this is, but I need to share it with someone, it can go here... in the latest issue of Musica jazz, there's a hilarious anecdote about Miles. At that time, he was playing with Gary Bartz and Jarrett; it was during the years of Live Evil. Gary walked into Miles's dressing room and said, "Miles, behind me Jarrett is doing things I can't stand, I don't like what that delinquent is up to. I want to feel free; I can't tolerate him following me when I'm playing." Miles said he would take care of it, called Jarrett, and told him, "Keith, Gary just left and told me he's excited about the things you're playing behind him. In fact, he asked me to tell you to play more." And the two almost came to blows in the following period... What a funny bastard :)))

Ah, I really preferred the one about Poe, but they are just nuances. What was the title? tales of mistery and imagination? I don't know?? ... too many years.
