I stopped following him for a while, but that doesn't mean he won't eventually return to being the artist he once was.

I never felt it, but the review seemed thorough and interesting to me. It encourages listening, and that's already a lot. Plus, come on, there should be room for everything on debaser, and you know that the comments section can be used to add more. Bye

I’m not saying you should think like Giovanni about Ryan Adams because maybe he exaggerates :) but I don't love him much either; "Cold Roses," for instance, didn't excite me. I believe it was mentioned in your review. I've read other reviews of this album, all quite positive, so let’s hope they don't exaggerate. Anyway, if it's possible to have a listen, I certainly won't deny it. Bye

Well... let me tell you about an episode related to Tazenda. Many years ago, I met a guitarist who played with Parodi. He told me their story. Before forming Tazenda in the 80s, Parodi was part of a local band called "Sole Nero." Then, due to a conflict between the musicians, the band split up, and each member went their own way. Tazenda was born and started to achieve success, while the other members of Sole Nero couldn't say the same about their new formations, which made them a bit fume. But there was another reason too. In fact, this guy I knew back then had taken the habit of calling every morning at 8 AM the one who wanted the dissolution of Sole Nero due to conflicts with Parodi. And every morning, as soon as he picked up the phone, he'd sing "Spunta la luna dal monte," and that guy, angry, would start cursing in Turkish, a bit like Moe from the Simpsons with Bart's phone calls. You really have to be bastards... :)) Sorry for the digression and any inaccuracies; it’s an anecdote that’s nearly fifteen years old. As for the reviewed album, I will definitely follow zuckina's advice. Bye!

I hope to be able to listen to it sooner or later; I will take your insights as a starting point.

They were memories of distant readings, Claudio, maybe even the same ones. Thank you for the additional pointers on Knopfler's ep, I'd like to listen to it and I hope I can appreciate it a bit more than his last album. Bye :)

Thank you borntorun. A couple of curiosities about the ep. Are these the live performances that Knopfler did on the radio to promote the album? And are the arrangements different from the album? I'm asking because a while ago I heard a live performance of Knopfler on Shangri-La on radio 3, and I liked it much more than the album. Bye.

I downloaded some mp3s from his site, at times he reminds me of something from Springsteen, not bad, an interesting proposal. Rating for the samples. Bye :)

I listened to it distractedly and in pieces... for now, I renew a superficial perplexity; it seems out of time to me... a forcing, but I will postpone my judgment to a more thorough listen.
