Joseph Arthur Redemption's Son
Voto:
I have been listening to "our shadows will remain," his latest album, for several days and I must say it could appeal to many debasers. However, the comparison to Cohen seems a bit bewildering to me. Bye

Very interesting proposal. It’s unlikely they’ll come to my area, so I hope to be able to comfort myself with the record.

Never was a advertisement more welcome, Francesco. I will go to listen. As for the review ... as usual.
Johann Sebastian Bach - Glenn Gould Variazioni Goldberg
Voto:
A masterpiece of humanity is both the music of Bach and Gould's interpretation. The record is part of the "Glenn Gould Edition" by Sony, which includes countless interpretations by the Canadian pianist at a more than accessible price, keep this in mind while shopping, then there's just the embarrassment of choice. For the curious and the heretics, I also wanted to mention the irreverent Goldberg Variations by Uri Caine. Bye.
Enrico Pieranunzi Racconti Mediterranei
Voto:
Gabriele Mirabassi is truly extraordinary. I heard him in concert with Gianmaria Testa, and before starting to warm up, he began to play the theme from the first movement of Mozart's clarinet concerto, magnificent. Just like the lyricism of Pieranunzi's piano, I haven't heard a single album from those I've listened to that has disappointed me. Then I like the person, I had read about his emotion when playing with the musicians who accompanied Bill Evans, his reference point. I don't know this album yet... it's a matter of time. Highly recommended review.
Claude Debussy Preludi per pianoforte - Libro 1
Voto:
First of all, thank you for bringing this music back to the site and in this way; there’s really very little to add to the description. Also, thank you for remembering that prickly gentleman who was Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli, who left behind some pages of music interpreted in an unmatchable way. Beyond Debussy, his interpretations of Beethoven are magnificent to me; I particularly remember the third piano concerto with Carlo Maria Giulini and the Vienna Philharmonic, but also the Piano Sonata No. 32, also by Beethoven, incredibly felt. Then I also recall a wonderful interpretation of Gaspard de la nuit by Ravel. So... if someone is not familiar with it, I feel like leaving them this small listening recommendation as well. Bye.
Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds Your Funeral... My Trial

A terrible and dark beauty. It's the Cave album I love the most.
Fabrizio De André Fabrizio De André in concerto volume 1
Voto:
too many memories... I remember this concert perfectly, and I'm not talking about the record. To avoid overwhelming you with words, I'll make just two points. The first is that for Faber, the song originated from a collective effort; in fact, this concert fits into a logic of "collaborative work" that was well established. The second concerns the genesis of "amico fragile," which took place after an evening at Portobello di Gallura - not Santa Teresa - where Faber had a house. It seems to me that the house of the agnata was purchased later. Bye.
Massimo Bubola Quel lungo treno
Voto:
A few months ago, an old album by Bubola, Tre Rose, was re-released. It’s an interesting album, though not spectacular, produced by Fabrizio De André himself (the only production, if I'm not mistaken). At times it reminded me of De Gregori, which is curious. I wanted to mention it because it might have slipped under someone’s radar. Instead of this album you reviewed, cece, I’ve read some positive reviews and I’m very interested; I wouldn’t mind a couple of samples. As for the controversies with Faber, it’s not all that surprising, cece; he seemed to be quite prickly. I remember there were also controversies with others like Fossati and De Gregori. But from these clashes/meetings, really beautiful things would emerge. Bye.
Ella Fitzgerald Ella abraca Jobim
Voto:
I don't remember ever having heard her, but probably Ella Fitzgerald's voice would manage to captivate me regardless of any arrangement. She could sing "happy birthday to you" and still manage to shock the listener.
