Gary Burton Reunion

Great job Grass, first for bringing out a gem of an album, and second for describing it, as usual, in an excellent way. In the end, you highlight one of the souls of Metheny, not bad even though it’s inferior to the album released a few years ago with Burton Corea Metheny Haynes Holland. By the way, you reminded me of a Vince Mendoza album I had forgotten about, I'll go look for it later. As for Gary Burton, I'm absolutely in love with his excursions into tango, but sooner or later we’ll talk about that again. Bye :))

A name I know by reputation, thus superficially. There is time to make amends.

It has nothing to do with it, but I like to remember a theatrical version of Goethe's Faust written by Giorgio Barberio Corsetti that I saw a few years ago... Mephistopheles split between two actors, the scenography filled with televisions on pulleys, colors, rhythm, the audience caught off guard... an amazing and beautiful thing, maybe like this music.

I didn't mind this little disc at all. Now we are really at the end with Dire Straits, Claudio, unless you want to start with the bootlegs. I liked an old live performance from their early days, "on the road to philadelphia," I think... I'll check after.

A questionable operation, really, that leaves no mark. A couple of listens and that's it...
Miles Davis 'Round About Midnight

I think it's hard to find anything bad in his music ;) Anyway, mentioning "In A Silent Way" reminded me of Bill Laswell's reinterpretation (the album is Panthalassa: Miles Davis re-mixes 1969-1974) I believe you might really like it zion :)) @ antonio there's time for shopping, as it never really ends ;) Bye

Just today I was reading an article discussing the current free jazz music development in Belgium and the Netherlands; I wonder if the trio they mentioned has been influenced by this... I would be curious to know more. In the meantime, I’m removing the "wolf parade" (sorry, Giov) and listening to "the ideal crash" :)

I'm listening to you, dear giov, as you can see, even though you have very questionable musical tastes, I still continue to trust you ;))) For now, I can only give you a lukewarm judgment: I was expecting something more mind-blowing. They didn't surprise me, but all in all, I don't dislike these guys; for now, I'm between a 3 and a 4, we'll see later. Bye :)
