George Winston Night Divides The Day: The Music Of The Doors
Voto:
Having listened to Winston until nausea, today I wouldn't make it, and the new age makes me nervous. A curious proposal that I'll keep my distance from, so a nice review even though I would avoid absolute superlatives. In short ... the Doors the best rock band in all of music ... boooooom :))
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Concerti per Violino N°3 & N°5

It’s striking to see Anne Sophie in this image as a child prodigy with Karajan; I love the spontaneity of the photo, a spontaneity that suits Mozart's music well (I believe... I think... I hope...). Seeing her like this makes me somewhat sad about her current somewhat plasticky and insincere image as a "classical model," as seen, for example, in the box set of Beethoven’s violin concertos... there’s something to ponder about the relationship between performers and beauty... As for Mozart, I believe the review has well honored and explained these works, whose evaluation always depends on the reference parameter, just to say that not all fives are equal, nor are fours or threes, and so on... After all, I myself once gave a nice four to our Salzburg native a while back; it wasn’t my fault but the parameter’s, in defiance of accounting and biases. Adiosu :)

Yes, beautiful page, unfortunately I haven't been able to fully get into records like these yet. I remember I had tried to listen to something after your review, but I never delved deeper.

try to listen carefully, for example, to the chorus of You Are Never Alone, with the background choirs that give incredible strength to Chesnutt's voice. Or when you listen to Debriefing, try not to resist the temptation to turn up the volume when the songwriting is overwhelmed by the progression of the guitars, by the expanded post-rock. Yes, damn, this is a great album, for me the best of Chesnutt, a fucking masterpiece, an album that will endure because it offers the best that diverse musicians can provide. I know Chesnutt will be touring in Europe soon, there are talks of a few dates in Italy; if that's the case, I will try not to miss him. Haloa

my album of the year without a doubt, an seemingly unlikely union between southern songwriting and Canadian post-rock digressions that find a happy integration, with mutual added value to the musicians' work. An album that initially deceives, appearing traditional, but then changes and grows note by note. An album capable of hurting that gets under your skin with that unique singing of chesnutt, painful, lived, real, with guitars and harmonies.

well... apart from rare moments, overall I found it quite disappointing from a musical perspective, with few truly interesting elements, in short.

I agree, it's a really beautiful album, one of the most interesting releases of 2007 and not just in relation to jazz. However, I’ve never listened to it the way you suggest... I’ll give it a try.
