Already Vi, that almost is not little and anyway it's true that "Amor Porteno" is a little gem. @giorgioladisa yes I also prefer the first one for now but I’ll wait a bit after all it just came out hola to you :) @pacino I was about to tell you that the news about Cassandra Wilson was one of those delicious ones and that party pooper Odradek ruined everything ;)))) is it possible that he messed up? Even with Ribot? I hadn’t heard from her in a while... now I’ll stop by the little shop and see if it has arrived, I hope it’s there and doesn’t disappoint. Pacino and Odradek (well, I’d say to everyone) in the realm of beautiful voices I really liked the soundtrack of "Good Night and Good Luck" with Dianne Reeves, I listened to it again tonight and I must say it was a lovely afternoon. Another beautiful female album is the latest from Lila Downs ("La cantina"), even though there are moments that perhaps still haven't grabbed me, I need to listen to it again. However, my album of the month is definitely "Le voyage de sahar" by Brahem, I think you’ll like it, if I have time and willingness I’ll write a few lines in the coming days. Bai bai :))

Odradek, for the series "coincidences don’t exist," know that my copy of this CD has met the same fate as yours, lent to a guitarist friend and usucapito. At least it’s in good hands, I’ll give it a vote for the pale memory :)

Soiling the atmospheres, even just a little, with other sounds is a great idea, especially looking ahead. And in my opinion, it highlights an idea that opposes self-referentiality. In this regard, I found it interesting that the recording sessions alternated between Paris, Tucson, and Argentina, where the musical collaborations were of high profile. In short, the original connection remains, the idea of contaminations, but with a search for a more ambitious breath. In the end, that’s the idea they gave me. If they had been more cunning/sly, they would have struck while the iron was hot, would have ridden the wave, released "la revancha del tango 2" right away, would have taken fewer risks, would have maximized popularity. Instead, they made different choices: doing a high-level tour, meeting other musicians, allowing time to pass for the second album, and in my opinion, we have to recognize this small merit of theirs, a sign of a bit of style. Perhaps in the future, there will be more radical musical changes, but if that happens, it will be because they took a transitional step (preceded by waiting) with this beautiful album, which, even if it doesn’t strike like the first one, remains a very well-crafted and pleasant work, not frequent. As for the "gigantism" of the live shows, it may be true, but have you seen the show? The DVD impressed me with its excellent musical and visual craftsmanship, a true spectacle, not just musical—perhaps ambitious, indeed very ambitious—but I like ambitious choices. Cheers, and thanks for the contributions to the discussion :))

The interrogative form is perhaps more mischievous, in fact that's why I said it was a half-suggestion ;))) What they should aspire to and what the fields are, I believe I mentioned in the review. It's a less ephemeral realm than it may seem on the surface, aiming not so much to re-read the tango, but to create a new tango. It's a broader musical/cultural operation. The fact that it emphasizes social value (we want peace) in the first album is an example from the past. In this case, however, there is more focus on the musical value, which further distances itself from both the lounge/electronic/jazzy idea (which I believe does not identify them) and from the predominance of the Argentine reference, despite its consistent presence. (to be continued...)

But no gabbox :)) a smart operation is half an insinuation because too much time has passed since the first album. A smart move would have been in 2002; today, it honestly doesn't seem like it. Secondly, talking about luck for hitting on a winning formula seems ungrateful to me. Thirdly, I think there's a misunderstanding in contextualizing the group; here we have an operation that goes beyond the simple idea of electronic/dance music, perhaps of the lounge genre. In my opinion, they are seeking a new dimension for tango, recalling its history. They have a broader musical breath, also confirmed by the fact that they collaborate with one of the most important contemporary tango pianists, as I mentioned before, namely Gustavo Beytelmann. Lastly, I really don't understand what "autoreferenziale" means; to me, it stems from a fundamental misunderstanding in wanting to place this music in a context that perhaps doesn't belong to it. Thanks anyway for pointing out these Bajofondo Tango Club, I will investigate. Thanks also to jack86, let me know if you liked this album afterward. Bye :)

Thank you so much, Gabri :)) it seems like a really interesting thing, and I’ll try to return the favor. Thanks also for reminding me of the meaning of the album title honored by some photographs inside the CD :) Oh, thanks Luk, you’ll let me know how to return the favor, right? :) Bye!

Yes Mauri, the first album is still a listen that comes back. However, the second album - less inspired, true, but with some gems - I don't consider it by Gotan Project, because it's a DJ set by Philippe Cohen Solal only. The idea of combining reading and music is quite good, it could be further developed, this is already a good starting point. A nos bidere sanos messere Sfascia-lamiere :)

The visual impact of the reproduced cover is quite striking :) Surely the idea is nice (even if not unique, it seems to me that there are several examples). I don't know the record, I don't buy on eBay, I'm old-fashioned and I like to chat with the shopkeeper; who knows how long I'll hold out :)
