Destruction Infernal Overkill
Voto:
"I've listened to 'Infernal Overkill' several times and it doesn't catch me, while I've worn out the vinyl of 'Eternal Devastation' and I've always wondered why. For multiple reasons, aside from the classics 'Mad Butcher' and 'Thrash Attack', and aside from not comparing it to 'Hell Awaits', I have the impression that the rawness expressed hasn't been channeled into direct tracks, like for example 'Mercenary' by Tankard on 'Zombie Attack'. We have to consider that it's 1984, so this product has a lot of raw power; it was the era of many debut albums from Thrash bands, I don't forget that at all. I'll close this pitiful comment by saying this: I've read favorable opinions about this work on various sites, and since I consider Bartleboom not only a friend but also a very competent reviewer, I feel inadequate to evaluate this work. I already know that if I went back to listen to it, it would end up like 'Time Does Not A Heal', but... mumble... mumble now that I think about it, I can't stand the drummer, no no, I can't absolve him on this record. On the opener of side B of 'Eternal Devastation', when the song takes off and he plays the usual roll, there's a strange effect from the cymbals, like when the oil is frying in the pan and you throw in the steak; I had never heard that before. As for Marcel, he really has a voice tone I like, while Mike is a respectable guitarist. So, having said that, I think the fault lies with Tommy if I can't appreciate it all, in fact it's mine and Tommy's fault. Alright, I'll give it another shot... good as always Bartle:DDD"

The mule is a beautiful thing, but the last albums I appreciated are Powermad, Black Widow, Forbidden, Sword, Tankard, and "New Gold Dream" by Simple Minds that I found on sale. Years ago, I had to sweat for my records, and now everything is too easy, and I can't enjoy the operettas as I should...

Ahem... I've listened to "Agent Orange" by Sodom and I know roughly the discography of Sodom (on paper), I will certainly take a look at "Persecution Mania" and the ones you mentioned. The problem with Sodom is that on Agent Orange they borrow heavily; I'm referring to the drum rhythm of the opener that is identical to "Death Squad" by Sacred Reich (even the production), then there are some bits from Megadeth, and the riff of the opener is the same as "Are You Deaf" by Exumer. However, the historical significance of Onkel Tom is undeniable, so I absolve them. I really like "Eternal Devastation" by Destruction, but I can't quite appreciate "Infernal Overkill." However, I really don't like the Megadeth from "The System Has Failed." Last night I wrote you a nice message about Running Wild, but it all went to shit, so I think I'll send you the email directly. Bye!

I apologize to everyone, but it seems that the cover "Death Or Glory" is by Holocaust, a band from the N.W.O.B.H.M. This happens when you don't listen to the original tracks of the covers.

Listened to a lot. Great review, truly a wonderful idea to review Steppenwolf. Monarch also produced "Leave Scars" by Dark Angel in 1989. An essential band for sure. Great job fenni:DDD
