Ryan Adams & The Cardinals Jacksonville City Nights
Voto:
Utterly boring. The first two are deceiving, then the level drops and never recovers. Almost a miscarriage, saved a bit by the texts.
Ryan Adams & The Cardinals Cold Roses
Voto:
If he had concentrated the best tracks into a single album, it would have been excellent. The quintessence of the genre's classicism, it doesn't say anything new but it says it well. A bit too much filler and songs that sometimes seem like twins of one another. However, Adams stands out for his ease in writing sweet, evocative, and melancholy country rock ballads. Best tracks: Magnolia Mountain, Cherry Lane (great lyrics), Blossom, Dance All Night, Tonight. I would avoid the comparison with Young.
The Beatles Let It Be
Voto:
For hardcore fans.
I've Got A Feeling is a top-notch track and Two Of Us is a nice country excursion.
The Beatles Rubber Soul
Voto:
It is the album that marks the artistic maturation of the Beatles and is perhaps the most significant of their career; everything they do afterwards will follow suit. It took the pop song to another level.
Led Zeppelin Houses of the holy
Voto:
Rock Antologya, I fear you've missed something, it's not their debut.
The Kinks Something Else By The Kinks
Voto:
Discreet review, except for the final note. The album strings together a series of little gems worth purchasing, although they are interspersed with 2-3 rather bland episodes. I prefer them to the Beatles; Ray Davies is a great talent and a sweet storyteller. The lyrics of this record are lovely, simple yet evocative. But did you review the album with the bonus tracks added after '88 or not?? Favorite tracks: Situation Vacant, Waterloo Sunset, Death Of A Clown, The Soldier Man, Harry Rag. Then among the bonus tracks, there are 3-4 that stand out; I would highlight Polly and Susanna's Still Alive (heavily plagiarized).

Beautiful review, Arthur.
Ray Davies, a very talented songwriter. Great little songs, delightful lyrics.
Pere Ubu Cloudland
Voto:
Funny review, I liked it. Ubu watered down, recommended for those who hate the early Ubu, which still manage to do pop with a certain class. Real rating: 3.5
Pere Ubu New Picnic Time
Voto:
Another album by UBU, for me it deserves 5 stars.
Masterpiece.
