A group I discovered just a little while ago (2-3 months), but with the listening of their absolute masterpiece: "Panopticon," I was literally left in awe. I immediately downloaded their entire discography, and in a sort of virtual ranking, I would place "Oceanic," "In the Absence of Truth," and "Celestial" next. When I found out that a new album was coming out in May, and on top of that, my guitarist from MY favorite band was playing on it, I was so drooling that a Saint Bernard would have given me a handjob. The moral of the story: I was a bit disappointed, as only "Threshold of Transformation" gives me some satisfaction, the only track that finally seems to "explode" for me. The first two are nice, with the first one being more charming, where you can hear the touch of master Adam Jones. The rest makes me wrinkle my nose a bit; I find it all a bit flabby, and Turner’s voice would be better off minding its own business sometimes. Good review, but I don't agree with the final album rating: (3.5) for me, nor with the fact that "You can get lost in self-indulgent wankery, mind-bending sound twists (I think of something by Mastodon)." I would rather think about a crappy American band that goes by the name and surname of Drim Titer.

Not to be confused with the almost similarly titled erotic 20,000 (s)ejaculations under the seas.

...yes the Kyuss at 5 euros. I got "and the circus leaves town" for 5 euros (damn, how beautiful is the last track). Anyway, great review and great suggestion Mr. Mustacchio. This album adds to the ones I urgently need to get (like the first Dead Meadow and "Ground" by our own Alix). By the way, the latest Kylesa kicks ass, it has nothing to do with this but I wanted to let you know, buddies. Bye.

Great, well done. I imagine Franco, if he were still alive, alongside a Les Claypool discussing festive rumps and acrobatic coitus. What a pair of aces they would have made... let me at least dream of them together. P.S.: aaaaaah how good the Americans are... God bless America.

Beautiful Pixies. Now I’m downloading… um, let me see if I can find something around the stores.

Never heard the Tura Satana. Anyway... the album dear Pixies isn't bad, although, coincidentally, the songs I like the most are the ones that are more in line with Snot (as I mentioned in the review). Another unreleased song with Lynn is in the live album: "Alive": the name of the song: "Choos What?".. ;-)

I agree with you, Cool. Damn, first making statements like, "without Lynn, the Snot will cease to exist," and then almost 10 years later, reuniting with the same name? Whatever... anyway, this new singer's voice isn't even remotely comparable to Lynn's, and from what I've heard, the sound is something tired and worn out. Well, let's just wait for October.
