Anekdoten A Time Of Day
Voto:
@Ktulu: thanks for the suggestions, I don't know them but I'll make up for it right away! As for Anekdoten, I actually prefer the last two: "Gravity" and "A Time Of Day," did you get that? ;-)
@CJBS: give them a listen, it's really worth it!

Of course they are important! In fact, in my opinion, they are also very poetic! I wrote the last sentence because, re-reading the review, I realized I had been a bit...dramatic...so it was to avoid stressing you out too much! ;-)

In my opinion, this album is beautiful. When it comes to progressive music, the names of the legends always come up (and rightly so), but for some reason, Camel rarely gets mentioned. This is a wonderful example of fresh and melodic progressive music with some truly remarkable peaks like Lady Fantasy. Highly recommended!
Peter Gabriel Up

Congratulations, your reviews have made me passionate about Gabriel as a solo artist... UP I love to death, it’s one of my favorites alongside the incomparable Passion. "Signal To Noise" conveys something I can’t quite describe; it has the power to freeze time, to capture my mind (and in this, I echo Grasshopper's words: it gives me chills). I really like the last sentence of the review and I fully agree: for some of us, music is essential and it's the bread of the mind.

Regarding my neighborhood, I consider myself very lucky to have been born and raised in Monteverde; without a doubt, the environment and the people around us (especially during adolescence) contribute to shaping our personality... I must say that opportunities here have never been lacking: ample spaces, parks, cultural circles, events... I know very little about the Laurentina area; I realize that it is a somewhat disadvantaged reality, but I believe that those who genuinely want to socialize and discover what’s “beyond” do not stop at the “den of poor, lobotomized beastly dwarfs,” and it seems to me that you are a testament to that. In the end, we live in Rome, and opportunities abound...;-)

I finally had some time to listen to this record, but maybe a bit too hastily... this is undoubtedly an album to be enjoyed slowly, perhaps as the background to a romantic dinner, maybe in the dark... and travel with the mind. ECM is really putting out some beautiful works; I agree with you on the stellar quality of the recording which, in my opinion, is an integral part of a good album. Have a great day!

I love this fusion of symphonic rock and classical music... maybe my favorite remains "Scheherazade And Other Stories" but this one is also very enjoyable. Plus, Haslam's voice is absolutely divine! Beautiful review!
Dream Theater Systematic Chaos

It's so strange to see the name of Miriodor (but they are Canadian! :D) in a review of Dream Theater! I thought I was the only one in Italy who knew them, but it seems I was wrong, and that's better! Even though I used to be a huge admirer of the Theater, I must say that I still haven't felt like listening to this album, and I'll let you imagine why...

I studied at Morgagni, in Monteverde (do you know it?). Back then, I must say that many girls were quite sensitive and attentive to certain voices outside the norm... in short, the image of the engaged boy, "intellectual" and artistically inspired, was more appealing. And music has always been the most accessible form of art. Now, 15 years later, I see my little cousin going to the same school... and I realize that things have "slightly" changed...

You won't believe it, but I completely agree with your theory... it's been a few years since it happened to me, but during my teenage years, it happened to me often (unconsciously, I believe) to imagine exactly what you described in the first part of the review... strange, I had never thought about it. I'll listen to the album soon!
