In my opinion, considering the other Metal genres, calling Nu Metal "extreme" music is a bold statement!!! A very bold statement!!! "True" Metal is not a fad!!! In fact, it has been going strong since 1976 (or perhaps even earlier) up to TODAY!!! Just like Hard Rock!! And Punk... particularly the Hardcore variant has been anything but a "trend" in my opinion!!! I only say that with these singles and the latest album, while perhaps the self-titled and Iowa could simply be described as violent, from then on it’s all a series of "strategies" simply to attract as many fans as possible!!! And right here they don’t show a certain "coherence" with the genre they make and of which you say they are among the flag bearers!!! If a flagship band is controlled by record labels, I don’t know to what extent it can really be called that!!! And don't come telling me that this apparent (for now) turnaround is just an expansion of their style and other assorted nonsense!! I’m not saying that the genres you mentioned haven’t done this on occasion, but surely not at this level and maybe with "an album" slightly out of place in the discography of the BIG! As for the Beatles....... it’s perhaps the only "countertrend" of Scaruffi that I support! A person I don't really pay much attention to, to tell the truth!

They can be the greatest musicians in history, but for me, they don’t deserve what they have!!! And I make a note that... as good as they may be... there are always better bands than them, not only from a technical standpoint!

Cool: I'm not necessarily saying this!!! We have to listen to the album and then we'll have the final verdict!!! But it's still something!!! And it's UNDENIABLE that THEY DO NOT FOLLOW THE TREND OF THE MOMENT!!! At times even their own fans admit it!!!

It's not mental fundamentalism!!! It's a fact that they pick up on all the Nosebleed trends!!! I'm definitely not a "metal fundamentalist"… I listen to various modern bands, but tell me… were Slipknot important?? What have they ever done??!! Did they perhaps revolutionize metal by institutionalizing a new genre like Nu Metal?? It doesn’t seem so: Omonomimo by Korn (which you rightly mention) teaches us!!! Defining Linkin Park as Metal is a blasphemy!!! Slipknot simply adapts to the trends of the moment!!! They may know how to play well, they may have technique here and there, but they are worth nothing!!! They are NOT important for ANYTHING! Their lyrics are FULL of clichés too!!! The lyrics aren't worth anything either, and when you talk about a period, do you mean the late '90s and early 2000s?!! A time when Nu Metal had already been around for a while!!! Tell me what you see as important in Slipknot!!!??? What do you see as important in a PUPPET OF RECORD LABELS THAT CRITICIZE THE SYSTEM THEY THEMSELVES ARE PART OF!? TELL ME!

Yeah, right Kurtd!!! But don't you think there needs to be a tiny bit of musical coherence???!!!! They appropriate all the trends, all the fads of the moment for their "music," or rather their "product!!!" This definitely qualifies them among the most commercial groups in the history of "extreme" music!!! And it hurts to see these guys achieving massive success while there are people playing in basements who work their asses off to create good music and will NEVER reach even the slightest success!! Don't you think?

I note with pleasure the fact that you immediately resort to insults when you can't find valid arguments to respond to a critique that is absolutely coherent with the facts and purely objective, which has offended no one!!!
