Of Montreal Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?

"I fell in love with the first cute girl that I met who could appreciate George Bataille / standing at Swedish festival discussing the Story of the Eye"...absolutely precious and simply delightful, right?

No, no, dear Pi.Per, you had used the expression "one gives in to the mass, the rocking and mainstream globe" and I said that "it seems to me a nonsense stemming from a superficial listen" (and I confirm). It’s a bit different... that said, I find very little pop-rock in this album, but maybe, as usual, it's a matter of definitions. It’s true that the sound has become more structured, orchestral, with much more heterogeneous influences than the debut (blues, psycho-folk, etc.), but it doesn’t seem to me that this means becoming "pop-rock". Or maybe it does, who knows?

Alright Addison, I see that not many people come by here. Bad for them. Let's have a two-person conversation, we understand each other, and then let's lock ourselves in the room to listen for the hundredth time to this gem that you had the merit of pointing out. I reiterate the five stars, all fully deserved.

I have Funeral by Arcade Fire, I love it and it makes me scream masterpiece until I lose my voice. I only have a little breath left to say that this is another masterpiece and to say that the phrase "it surrenders to the mass, to the rocking and mainstream globe" seems to me a nonsense stemming from a superficial listening (no offense, just a personal opinion). The album is much more introverted and controversial than Funeral.

mmm...no, I also do not share your enthusiasm...it seems to me more of a work done by formula, with excellent arrangements and even too perfect, but lacking in inspiration this time...exactly that inspiration that was definitely present in "Dieci Stratagemmi," which you hastily labeled as a modest album...a matter of taste, but, allow me, also a bit of objective critical honesty...

Well, I would say half a step to the side and half a step back, dear Northern. Definitely her least interesting album. And I would dare to disagree with kosmogabri: "Wind in the Wires" was far superior to the debut album she de-recommended. Always according to me...

But who said they are similar or the same... for heaven's sake. I'm just saying that this little disk is a good record, but definitely inferior to other things released recently, which draws my attention to other matters... I was making a much more egocentric point.

The album is decent, but it gets lost among the great things released at the start of this year (with Menomena and Of Montreal standing out) and fails to stand out. Definitely less captivating than the debut. "Satan Said Dance," however, is really fun.
