Blackdog: The fracture along with Lizard and islands, in my opinion, form the crimsonian triad… a chilling piece that’ll make you shit yourself.

I take this opportunity to recommend to everyone...just to stay on the topic of unjust lesser works...the two albums Godbluff and Still Life, both by Van der Graaf...are works that critics consider minor, when in fact, with a pressing number of listens, the attentive lover of prog will realize how much personal opinion matters in this genre of music, rather than that of the critics...especially when talking about Still Life...which has fallen into obscurity while in my opinion it comes directly after Pawn Hearts...by the way, I was at their concert on July 22...splendid!!!! Hammill is god!

So... and I'm referring to Hetzer and Manliuzzo... damn it!!! Why is there people who fall asleep with Van der Graaf??? You, Hetzer, who writes about Lizard: "but if you aren't afraid to listen to the anguish of life, dive in without fear"... well, it seems like you haven't understood a damn thing about VDGG!!!
Now, out of curiosity, which albums of theirs do you have??? I bet it's few, because to consider The Least We Can Do as their best album, it takes some courage... If you're looking for something that truly describes desolation and solitude, as well as the senselessness of life, the discography of Van der Graaf is what you're searching for... As for Pawn Hearts, it is perhaps (along with Rock Bottom) the best record of all time... and dear Manliuzzo, A Plague of Lighthouse Keepers (that's the resonant title of the suite) is one of the most haunting and artistic pieces of all music. Sure, it has no choruses or references that could somehow make it classify as a "catchy song," but that's exactly the beauty of it: it requires total immersion and contemplation from the listener!!! Listen to it (and I mean properly) and let me know... my contact is mearini91@hotmail.it

So... I should start by saying that I fully, or almost fully, agree with Hetzer: Lizard is a masterpiece, and in my ranking, it only comes after Islands.
Of course, like many great listeners, there was a time when, discovering new and exciting albums, I realized that ITCOTCK was a bit too glorified and perhaps overrated... but, as time goes by, the desire to listen to it again always comes back, along with the undeniable truth that it is an excellent album!!!
Now, however, it's time for the big reprimand!!1

Piccolojoedi: I should preface that I’m a guy of your same age and I listen to King Crimson... believe me, in '74-75, psychedelia was dead and buried... so the music of King Crimson can only and solely be labeled as "Progressive"... among all KC albums, this one, in my opinion, is the least successful: it’s actually a synthesis of what had been done before in the other albums, just rehashed ideas and not necessarily improved... I much prefer Islands and Lizard and I consider "The Fracture" one of the best pieces ever!!! Anyway, if you feel like talking about music, since we’re the same age, my contact is mearini91@hotmail.it add me!!!

Guys, what a show... with the band we started playing "The musical box"... I can't tell you how happy it made me... as for the album, it's really great, although it falls short in some tracks like For Absent Friends and (many will hate me for this) Arlequins... I prefer Selling England... finally, a few words about Phil: Immense!!!!!!!! mearini91@hotmail.it
