King Crimson Islands

Let's start with the doubt about Mel: in my opinion, he deserves the title of "legendary" because it is very evocative and enduring in the history of the kings (I prefer him to Mc Donald). As for the jazz definition, I only said "a sound that is very close to jazz"; I didn't say that the compositions are of that kind (I would classify them more as free). And finally, the second part of Formntera: I noticed that every single instrument in the second part (including the vocals) has a role distinct from one another, there's a presence of percussion (lighter than in Larks'), and the overall result is very confusing but interesting, only understandable after careful and repeated listens... characteristics that are also common in Larks', don’t you think? Anyway, these are impressions... (from September)! Did you like the joke? Lucky you for knowing Collins!!! So, can you raise the review for me?

Icon, before joining, I told myself: "I will have to write a review of a King Crimson album, but one that isn't trivial and has already been done." So I decided to choose Islands, which along with "Larks' Tongues" and "In the Court" are the best of KC.
"In the Court," unlike the other albums listed above, is the only one that isn't timeless; to put it simply, it's the most easily digestible. With repeated listens (I've probably played it at least 200 times, believe me!), it loses some of its charm, even though it remains a masterpiece...
It’s one of my top ten albums, but definitely comes after Comus, Islands, and Pawn Hearts...
Anyway, I recognize that one of the beauties of the world is having different opinions...
I recommend, if you haven't already, buying the following progressive albums:
Islands
Lizard
First Utterance (Comus)
High Tide (High Tide)
Gracious... (Gracious)
Larks' Tongues in Aspic
Aria (Alan Sorrenti)
Selling England by the Pound (Genesis)
Octopus (Gentle Giant)
Forse le luciole non si amano più (Locanda delle Fate)
Ocean (Eloy)
Can you recommend me some good albums?

The album is nice but too old to be original, look at King Crimson for example, the review is truly brilliant.

Fusillo, all the pieces require careful listening: you have to immerse yourself in it, you have to use more than just your ears – you need your mind and imagination... that's the beauty of Prog!
High Tide High Tide

Sure, "Sea shanties" is very nice, but a bit drawn out compared to the following: I define "Sea Shanties" as just music while "High Tide" is art... The former is perhaps for metal lovers, the latter for prog enthusiasts. Both are beautiful.

Let's also make it four, like the little pigs to which one more is added: the piglet Piggy. Piggy was a very friendly and outgoing little pig, but despite everything, he loved solitude...
Nick Drake Bryter Layter

I just wanted to affirm that the great Drake (I recognize his genius) tried to make a somewhat more progressive album. If you're tangled up in this genre, you'll understand that Bryter is certainly a nice record, but not such an exceptional masterpiece…
If you like sweetness: I would recommend "Islands" by King Crimson.
If you enjoy discussions about death and existential themes: I would suggest "Pawn Hearts."
If you like Nick so much, you can't help but dive into the prog territory...
