@Gehmison: if what you say in comment 12 is true, then McKean loses a lot of value in my eyes... it's the classic bullsh*t talk from a wannabe artist who first rakes in a good chunk of cash to work on a "pop" piece (in the best sense of the term), and then with statements like this shows himself to be nothing but a mercenary, far from an artist... oh well...(and this is coming from someone who adores McKean and this magnificent work).

It also seemed to me to be in the mid-'90s, I'm almost sure of it. Anyway, a very beautiful film, with one flaw: the Black girl is not very believable as the daughter of a white woman, mostly very white and very English like the protagonist (who is the star of the story). A film that, despite having a bitter undertone, sometimes manages to be hilarious. I really liked the review: concise, passionate, focused.
