Here they come, the bullshit hits the fan. SOAD are nu metal because it’s hard to label them with other genres (apart from alternative metal), so given that nu metal serves as a silo to throw a bit of everything in, SOAD fit right in. Since their first two (maybe even three) albums showcase amazing stuff, many people like them and to avoid tarnishing their reputation, they don’t want to classify them as nu metal because that would mean they listen to the same genre as Mudvayne or Slipknot (even though it’s true that SOAD are a thousand times superior). I don’t mean to attack anyone with this, so respect.
