But excuse me Kristal, you’re the one who goes looking for it... I went to peek at your reviews and I found Vasco Rossi, Dj Francesco, Renga, Tiziano Ferro, the Cornetto Free Music Festival, and even, here you were legendary, you managed to pull out that parastatal phenomenon Espen Lind! Come on...
And then, in my opinion, Poletti writes better than you, so it’s only fair that he gets more glory.

Well done, Poletti. Nice review. Regardless of the music, I found this page elegant and melancholic. Many things you've written are absolute truths, perhaps sometimes a bit trivial, but two concepts, expressed in different ways, evoke different emotions. You’ve expressed yours very well.

Look Qzerty, if there’s one thing I hate, it’s die-hard fans. I used to be one too. You become shortsighted, unable to see beyond. After you’re done with Detroit, take a flight and come back to Europe. Years ‘87-‘88-‘89. A lot of junk (like all trends) but also plenty of quality stuff. You just need to know how to choose. It’s not easy, though.

Qzerty, trust me, there is better than the great Depeche.

In my opinion, I don't see much similarity between the insights of Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode. If you mention the very first works of Juan Atkins, for example, when he was still calling himself Cybotron, then yes, I see many affinities there.

Music For The Masses, dear Zion, is a nice album, but it doesn't quite strike me as a masterpiece. It's a clever product that sold even less than they expected. However, I repeat: in terms of individual tracks, they were outclassed by more than one artist.

I think Biro's comment hides a grain of truth... Depeche Mode are great, but I still find them excessively praised. I believe their greatest merit is having maintained excellent levels for 25 years (which is no small feat...), but "in terms of speed," there have been groups and personalities that "went faster" in the 80s, to stay within the automotive realm :-)

No Fidia, I’m not going to see either Tuxedomoon or Television. I was really disappointed about the first, a bit less about the second, not because they’re not worth it, but because they stray a bit from my tastes. Did you go? Wow, a tarantino who’s into music, what an event!
Arthur Russell First Thought Best Thought
Voto:
Russell wrote some phenomenal "disco-house" tracks in the 80s. He was one of the few to bring experimentation to the dancefloor. Anyone who thinks dance music is second-rate should listen to something by this genius. And I don’t say this out of bitterness, but to broaden perspectives. His compositions had a class and elegance that set a standard.
A truly unmissable character.

Hi Fidia, I’m 27 years old. Yes, mine is a pathological case of "moldy before my time" :-)
