AA.VV. Music from the Motion Picture, Pulp Fiction

Great Zion, I also go crazy for Luis Bacalov's track on the Kill Bill Vol. 1 OST, sweet and violent at the same time. The pairing with the manga scene is just top-notch, truly genius.

Dear Zigghio, thanks to your advice I got ERASERHEAD on DVD from play.com. It's truly incredible. I believe the only possible adjective to describe it is "brilliant"... You're right, the comparison with NOT AVAILABLE is not far-fetched. Even though I think the two works have different purposes, in the end, they achieve the same incredible, devastating result. Thanks again for the tip!

Listen a bit, anonymous. How should one talk about music, in your opinion? Come on, get into the details. I'm waiting for you. Sermons... meh... I'm truly puzzled by people who have such an approach to music. It means you didn’t understand a damn thing about this album.

Zigghio, can you please tell me a little about ERASERHEAD by DAVID LYNCH? Yesterday, I was browsing the search engine, and I think I found my favorite filmmaker! I’m not very knowledgeable in this field, but what I’ve read has me buzzing with excitement! Is it available on DVD? Thanks in advance.

It's true, it's unsettling, wonderfully unsettling. I dare anyone to find a more fascinating record than this.

Dear tiziocaio, you are absolutely right. The new wave is an extraordinary period with practically endless stylistic facets. The bands you mentioned, Bauhaus and Sisters of Mercy, have been milestones of the new wave. Also noteworthy in their genre is "Catastrophe Ballet" by Christian Death, a very subtly satanic album, much more "intelligent" than someone like Marilyn Manson, for example. And how can we not mention the great JOY DIVISION (also keep an eye on the first NEW ORDER album, "Movement," it’s really beautiful) or SIOUXIE? Take a look at the great VIRGIN PRUNES that I just reviewed. Moving on to more electronic sounds, I recommend "Metamatic" by JOHN FOXX, which I have also reviewed. An extraordinary album, to say the least. "154" by WIRE is another masterpiece to have, just like "LOW" by DAVID BOWIE. I also recommend all of BRIAN ENO's works up until the '80s. Timeless gems. And what about the legendary JAPAN? You’d do better reading my reviews on them, search and you will find. Don’t forget albums that the bored critics might have snubbed, like "Rio" by DURAN DURAN and "Vienna" by ULTRAVOX with Midge Ure. The entire avant-garde of that period is beautiful, from CHROME (also just reviewed) to SUICIDE, as well as CABARET VOLTAIRE. Very challenging albums, but they offer great rewards for attentive and immersed listening. I hope I’ve been somewhat helpful. Bye and see you soon.
