I listened to this album halfway in the car with my friend. It was an immense torture to hear them. If I think that this crazy criminal traveled from Taranto to Modena to see them... there's no limit to madness. They probably do it on purpose, I won't argue, but they are the exaltation of the most base foolishness that man can conceive. Shit. A product of our times, where soon dogs will become smarter than certain people. Sorry for the outburst, I hate talking like this, acting like a pretentious intellectual, so much so that occasionally I enjoy listening to Mario Merola, Nino D' Angelo from "Chiara," and various other stuff, which for me are better than this garbage; at least they have a meaning. This stuff is just putrid, stinky refuse, the exaltation of the most common clichés.

I don't know the album, I obviously know "Sara." My rating for "Sara": 1.5.

I gave him a 4, okay? I was talking about a drop in tone compared to excellent tracks, not compared to rubbish.

David Sylvian Brilliant Trees

A somewhat snobbish review, much like the album itself. It's certainly a beautiful work, but you speak of the Japan experience as a sin to be redeemed. Indeed, you are right when you use the term "aesthetic," but Japan wrote some great songs. I’ll mention "Nightporter," for example. I think the album is good, not least because of the extraordinary collaborators Sylvian surrounded himself with. At times, however, I find it too pretentious, almost snobbish, as I mentioned earlier. The best track, in my opinion, is "The Ink In The Well," precisely for its measured elegance, natural and unforced. I believe it’s the only masterpiece on the album. In conclusion, I consider Sylvian to be a very good artist, but not a great one. His voice, however, is unique and inimitable, that’s for sure. See you soon, guys!

In my opinion, easycure is right. I want to preface by saying that I like Depeche Mode, their boisterous and self-deprecating attitude, in short, I find them quite charming. However, I think they are really overpraised. Let me explain. I will compare them to an artist I consider "underrated": John Foxx. If we compare any work by Depeche from the early '80s with "Metamatic," there's no contest. A clear 4-0 for Foxx. Foxx was truly an intellectual of techno-pop; he was definitely the one who reached the pinnacle of this genre. Yet, in record stores, "Metamatic" is sadly absent, unlike all the DM albums. Sometimes charisma, image, and marketability overshadow real artistic merits.
