The career of Kraftwerk is beyond discussion, but the debut of Suicide is among the first records in history. Pure genius. Madness.
Hugo Largo Drum
Voto:
The Hugo Largo are distinctly more austere than the Cocteau Twins. That's why if you enjoy their dreamy atmospheres, you might be disappointed upon listening. Here, above all, there’s no electronics. Their elegance lies precisely in their sobriety. There’s nothing that should be taken away or added. Still, give them a listen; it’s an experience worth having. There aren’t many bands as original as this.

Paoletta, you’re so silly that you seem like a joke.
Depeche Mode Ultra

No no no easycure, not this. I was the first to call Depeche overrated, but you can't define "Song Of Faith And Devotion" as low-tier synth pop. 1. Because it’s not synth pop. 2. Then what are "Curiosity Killed The Cat"? I agree that a lot of stuff pre-85 is subpar and that the dark undertones aren’t really that dark, but to bring them to the level of boy bands? No. "In Your Room" is a beautiful piece. As for those who defend Kraftwerk tooth and nail, I say that they have also been overly praised. They had great historical significance; "The Model," for example, can be said to have paved the way for synth pop, but they don’t reach the same quality levels as their illustrious German counterparts (and I'm talking about peaks, not longevity).

Great album, no doubt about it, a must-have. Certainly superior to a lot of the dark stuff that will come after, like Siouxie, etc. For me, it’s also musically superior to Joy Division. A very, very psychological work, dark and obsessive, original and innovative.
