It's true, Stipe loved them a lot. Crazy is very beautiful, the rest I don't know because it's a hard-to-find album, being out of print. Anyway, congratulations on the choice, original and thoughtful, as well as of high quality.

I don't like the review, because it's a bit too naive. The album is nice but not a masterpiece. Above average is the beautiful version of "Like Spinning Plates" and the concluding "True Love Waits."

Perhaps you’re not entirely wrong; when it comes to the sound, you’re right, it is superior to Gentlemen, which, however, has a greater charm for me. Regarding the ratings, you have to consider that it was one of my first reviews and I wasn't quite clear on the evaluation criteria (since, in my opinion, there should be a scale of tenths). Now I would rate both with the same score, which is 4. Hello Odradek, thank you for the attention you give to my reviews.

Only the cook from Salò is saved from those. I adore De Gregori, it's not that I don't like him. It's just that I like other things about him. You picked exactly what I don't like.

Zuckina, it’s you who took the trouble to check out my review on De Gregori. That means you’ve “been fixated” on me. And I don’t like that. Period. So I’ll respond in kind and tell you to take a look at the rest, since you consider yourself so clever. And just to conclude: DE ANDRÉ ATE DE GREGORI FOR BREAKFAST ON SOCIAL ISSUES. OK??????? I’VE BEEN CLEAR. LISTEN TO ALL OF “STORIA DI UN IMPEGATO.” DE GREGORI IN THOSE SONGS IS BA-NAL.

Hal, forget it, it's wasted words.. Zuckina, it's you who doesn’t understand a thing, okay? Go on, go read my reviews, go see what albums they talk about, you would definitely learn something. Hal spared me the effort. Yeah, yeah...let's compare NERO to GUERRA DI PIERO, yeah, come on....let’s compare CAPATAZ to DOMENICA DELLE SALME...anyone else have more nonsense to add, step forward.

Zuckina, I listened to the album and I know and have everything by De Gregori, unfortunately. I say unfortunately because I got two colossal duds like SCACCHI E TAROCCHI and CANZONI D'AMORE. Yes, because they are two duds. It's true that his songs are soaked in "social protest" lyrics, and that's exactly where the flaw lies. De Gregori is not capable of writing such lyrics. Better leave that to people like De Andrè (who, unfortunately, can’t do it anymore...). De Gregori is the singer-songwriter of utopia, of the metropolitan fairy tale, of love. These are the themes he knows how to handle masterfully. There is no love song more beautiful than "Pezzi di vetro." That was De Gregori. Over time, he has inexorably lost his touch, and ended up writing love songs like the dreadful BELL'AMORE. The real De Gregori was the intimate and introspective one of "Pecora," the dreamer and rebel of "Buffalo Bill," of unforgettable pieces like "L'abbigliamento di un fuochista," but how can you compare those songs to these... monotonous and naïve ones? Yes, naïve, because the social protest lyrics of the current De Gregori are childlike.

If you go to Salento, you’d better bring a good dose of patience with you, and especially a lot of money. The people from Salento definitely deserve the title of "the stingiest in Italy." The Genovese don't stand a chance.

No no no and that's enough! I mean, Zuckina, how do you have the nerve to say that "La donna cannone" is way more commercial than this album? How can you compare that song with this stuff, I don't know.. I reiterate, it's a clever and catchy piece of work. And I keep writing, if you don't like it, just don't read me. Period. These damn arrogant ways of expressing opinions then... "you can also stop writing." Well...

No Bogus, I only have this from Tuxedomoon. I'd like to get Desire but I'm afraid it might be too different from Half Mute. By the way, your comment is spot on! Can you tell me how it is? What kind of sound and influences does it have?
