I never said that you are idiots, and just so you know, I don't listen to the great guitarists, mainly because the guitar is not one of my favorite instruments. I must have unconsciously absorbed this album during my friend's exhausting guitar sessions at university. For me, this is music for its own sake; no, actually there is a purpose, and it is the exaltation of oneself.

Appearance? I reiterate, the cover should translate into images, or at least "speak" about the album even before you've listened to it. Why, for example, are all metal covers very similar? Because there exists an evolution of cultural movements in music, of themes that take shape from those and "social" situations, not to mention Freud.

What does the packaging have to do with the cover... I repeat, the cover often reflects what you'll find inside an album. Because music is also and above all image.
And it's not a matter of playing the psychologist; it’s just about analyzing things a bit. What rules are you talking about? I haven't insulted anyone; I’m just writing what I think, and no one can stop me. See? Yours is the typical tribal attitude, the attitude of those who bask in being trapped in their own stereotype.

I forgot a sound. Sorry. Since I'm here, I'll vote:

A good album but not as monumental as it's being touted, in my opinion. The Depeche Mode's great skill has been to maintain high standards over the years, to have been able to churn out melodies that stick in your head but are especially really powerful in terms of sound. However, in terms of individual tracks, they often draw points from other, much lesser-known contemporaries.

Manuel Gottsching may be unlikely for you, but for me, he is probably one of the greatest guitarists of all time. And as for the album covers, I don’t see anything strange about them; that’s also where you can see the vision, the artistry of a piece of work. Some of Vai's covers recycle (and play a lot) with the stereotype of the guitar hero, a stereotype that indeed aims to captivate eight-year-olds. Vai, like many of his colleagues, is a classic example of blunt, masculine exaltation; his approach, although technically talented, is crude, superficial, and trivial.

This cover is no joke either... but who makes them, Er Canaro?
