Savatage Edge of Thorns

Senmayan, now I understand everything.. basically, you have the weakest ones.. from this I can infer your young age.. aside from Gutter Bullet which still remains a good work, but personally it doesn't impress me too much, though certainly better than the albums from Streets onward. However, the fact that you have reevaluated Gutter Bullet can only make me think that you are talking only because you do not know all the albums.. so before you throw around words like "absolute masterpiece... something unrepeatable... everyone says that the most have unequivocally declared a certain album as a MASTERPIECE... and so on... try to listen to all the albums of a band or artist. It seems even more reasonable, don't you think? If you have reevaluated Gutter Ballet, then it means that probably when you've heard all the works you'll think like me or almost.. because of those you have, it’s the only one that resembles the tones of some previous albums like "hall of the mountain king" & "fight for the rock" ..(by tones I mean that typical heavy hard rock style of those years).. but not all the albums.. because IN MY OPINION AND NOT ONLY, THE TRILOGY: "Sirens, The Dungeons are Calling & Power of the Night" are indispensable and timeless...! Now, kindly all those who say that Savatage had a burst of creativity even after "Edge of Thorn"... can you explain how you can say such a thing.. don’t you feel ashamed to make fools of yourselves? After this album, we have only one original member which is Jon Oliva, the next album is an incredible piece of crap "Handfull of Rain" that seems to be more grunge/metal than anything else, basically an abortion... then comes an album even without Jon Oliva and that is, with none of the real Savatage (typical commercial maneuver?) Maybe in the other post I exaggerated saying that Savatage were dead after "Gutter Bullet," I realize that I overstated because in "Streets & Edge of Thorn" there is the work of Criss Oliva, the driving mind of the group. But afterward, it’s just a bunch of crap, too contrived and boring... useless to deny it... slow albums all over... even conceptually they make me sleepy... I get annoyed just listening to them, even the covers annoy me just to see them... some kind of poorly executed romanticism, though.. they don’t even give me the feeling of being real albums... As for whether "Edge of Thorn" is heavy or hard, to me it seems closer to hard rock than metal. YEAR OF DEATH OF SAVATAGE 1993! And with this, I close the discussion.

The records are decent but not terrible... as Vic Sorriso says, who always has a jerk in his mouth, that’s why he always talks about shit. By the way, I read that you have the particularity of taking a shit while watching television... that's why I think you're mentally ill, besides probably being high on the same... you criticize all the characters but you gladly watch them, though you’re a masochist... essentially, but don't you also take it in the ass?? IN ESSENCE VIC SORRISO YOU'RE A PIECE OF SHIT, FRIEND!

It's an album that made history and, in any case, changed certain things... in the rock scene... let's say it overshadowed the more brazen glam like Bon Jovi, Poison... etc. I'm particularly fond of it because I remember when it came out my uncle bought it and I was still in elementary school... good times, damn it...

Anatas the best??? AND THE TRIUMPH OF STEEL SHOULD COME FROM ANOTHER WORLD!! YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH IGNORANCE THERE IS AROUND, POOR HOMELAND!! AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED, IT'S THE MOST COMMERCIAL ALBUM THEY'VE EVER MADE, MAYBE THE ONLY COMMERCIAL ONE... DEFENDER MIGHT JUST BE WORTH THE PRICE OF THE RECORD:::

P.S: the voice that speaks in the piece "Dark Avenger" is that of Orson Welles.

You haven't understood anything, Manowar are right-wing, and I realized this when I saw the design of the album cover (which I consider superior to this 4) WHICH WOULD BE "Sign of the Hammer" with red, diamond, white and the hammer with wings in black at the center of the white... the same color scheme as the Nazi flag, indeed... anyway, aside from that, I like this album... I also like the one I mentioned... but I give a 5 to the absolute masterpiece of Manowar... namely "THE TRIUMPH OF STEEL" and don't you dare ever speak without knowledge of the facts again!!

I had this album around '94/'95 when I was still in my first year of high school, and I was frequently popping zits in front of the mirror... I almost hated it right away, the singer, moreover, seems to be a passive gay, who knows how much fun he has at the Rio de Janeiro carnival with all those trans... the technique is undoubtedly remarkable, but the songs feel empty and soulless... like the despised Dream Theater... THE BEST PROG METAL BAND THAT HAS EVER EXISTED IS FATES WARNING AND YOU DON’T COUNT FOR ANYTHING!

Overall, the review makes me feel like I have diarrhea, but the album is, in my opinion, the best. I would dare say that the tribal trend, in general, was born after this album... I remember well when it came out between '95 and '96... I consider it the turning point album, as well as the definitive death of Sepultura, which reincarnated only in Max Cavalera's "Soulfly." It’s a pity that his brother didn't follow him... Today's Sepultura should just retire and stop making fools of themselves in front of the world. This record is permeated with primitive violence... a cornerstone of music in general.

I also believe that their album "tres hombres" is one of their best, but I prefer "First's Album," which I still haven't figured out when it was released... because the CD I have is dated 1980... who knows...
