An album that I absolutely do not like... too sentimental; it's the beginning of the musical decline of Savatage in my opinion. The review praises it too much and is not objective, even though it is not badly written.

Then you say that the absolute masterpiece is "Streets"; my goodness, what terrible tastes you have, "Senmayan." I remind you that the true masterpieces of the band are the first two albums, "Sirens" and "The Dungeons Are Calling"... even the third one isn't bad. When these albums came out, no one had heard this uniquely rare way of playing... that hasn't been replicated to this day and I don't believe it will be. "Streets," from 1991, is merely the beginning of the decline. The last acceptable work of the band is "Hall of the Mountain King," 1988.

I know the album, and I have to say it's not a big surprise for me... the band's original masterpieces should be sought elsewhere, in my opinion. Of course, this album contains some good ideas; but for the most part, it comes across as sappy and slow compared to their previously released works. In any case, the album titled "The Dungeons Are Calling" is not an EP but is very much an album of the band (and in my opinion the best alongside Sirens). With this album, we already see a change in the band's lineup... which has become more boring, particularly up to the last works we know, like "The Wake of Magellan"... boring. The review is not objective... it leans heavily on the fact that it was the last musical work with Criss Oliva... for me, his testament should be found in other albums... certainly not in this one.

P.S. Let it be clear that my evaluation focuses solely and exclusively on the musical assessment. Not on the themes tackled by this concept album, which are of utmost social relevance. In short, this album did not impress me.

I had this album in my hands... and I listened to it. To be honest, it didn't excite me; I don't know why. I bought it after reading this review, which piqued my curiosity a lot. Maybe I didn't quite get it... anyway, it's rare for me to like "concept albums"... and I think it lacks a lot of "bite"; however, the technical work is undeniably there. Personally, I prefer works like "Warning," which I believe is revolutionary in the prog metal genre. Also, "Rage for Order" really intrigues me in terms of sound. This review is dictated by the heart of a die-hard fan, so it's not very reliable.

I see that that shithead "justice" is making a fool of himself again. Even though this time I have to agree with him. This album is not at all what the review makes it out to be (certainly better than "hear in the now frontier," which is a lethal piece of crap). I believe it’s richer in ideas than Q2K from 1999; it shifts towards a sort of modern underground and futuristic sound. Sure, it's not the best they've done, but it's "different" compared to "Tribe," where they try to recapture the old tones but barely succeed. I will write a review of Q2K as soon as possible. By the way, the review is influenced by the writer's emotions, who is surely a fan, so zero objectivity.

Lagomatteo, yes.. actually, looking back a year later, I have to say that this album does have something special about it.. anyway, let's realize that everyone has their own tastes and something that is objectively terrible could subjectively drive someone crazy.... I realize I’ve been too harsh on this album... I wonder if it's possible to withdraw your own reviews... let me know, in any case, I’ll give it another rating.
