Among the first concept albums. Drugged, exploited, destitute, the last. Desolation of the human condition. "How can I tell my mother that I am afraid? You who listen to me, teach me an alphabet that is different from that of my cowardice." Unattainable.

Known also as "The Indian."
Written after the kidnapping, it is a wonderful album. Considered an American rock album and popular Sardinian. De Andrè brings together on two parallel tracks the Native Americans and the Sardinian people, both marginalized.

Another wonderful work that contains perhaps the most violent and powerful song of the Genoese artist, that "domenica delle salme" still very relevant today.

Entirely written with Ivano Fossati. The triumph of minorities, the weak, and the oppressed.
Masterpiece.

The turning point album in music. De Andrè finally starts performing live, and his songs will sound less acoustic. I don’t know if there is a work by Faber under four balls. Cd with booklet!

Some songs written with the prince De Gregori. This is where the fragile friend Faber can be found.

The Zivas-Di Cioccio rhythm was definitely felt. They kept much of those arrangements even in the subsequent tours.

"But who is this Antonello Venditti, the one who was everyone's classmate at school?" Prophetic.
  • Martello
    27 may 20
Oh my God, I had this. I remember the song about Venditti, but I've always had a soft spot for those by Curcio and Andreotti (the latter said something like "you're too stupid to live").
  • fabriziozizzi
    27 may 20
"You are too stupid to live" would seem like "Milano e Vincenzo" by Fortis. "Who kissed Cicciolina? Andreottiiiiiii". :)))
  • Martello
    27 may 20
    I don't know, I must be confused.

Renato Curcio, however, is really beautiful. I put her on the listening.

Duet album. Featured tracks include "Genova blues" with De Andrè and "Canzone in allegria" with Jannacci.

Well, I find Byzantium extraordinarily beautiful, and the lager isn't joking around either.
  • fabriziozizzi
    20 may 20
Well, it's always Guccio and Byzantium; I used to write it from memory on the blackboard at school during substitute classes. :) However, it’s still a notch below "On Love, Death, and Other Nonsense" or "Madame Bovary," "What Cannot Be." I admit that I let myself be somewhat influenced by the divine arrangements of the Musici.

Whether Stanze was a setback is still to be demonstrated.

"Bolognese! Remember: Sting is very good, but keep your Guccini. Someone who managed to write 13 verses about a locomotive can truly write about anything" (Giorgio Gaber).

Album "less felt," as stated by Guccio himself.
  • Martello
    23 jan 21
More universal, but not any less beautiful
Francesco Guccini: Opera buffa

Grotesque and jovial record. Guccini live at the "Folkstudio" and "Osteria delle dame."
Franco Battiato: La Voce Del Padrone

Often mistakenly regarded as a simple album, it contains numerous quotes, from the Doors to Dylan, from the poet Fusinato to the philosopher Adorno. Who doesn’t own it?

Wonderful texts, but it's an album without bass, drums, and guitars. Luigi Tonet, at a certain point, inflates them for you.
  • Martello
    9 jun 20
For me, wonderful and that's it. For me, its strength lies precisely in the simple arrangements that highlight the lyrics. This album was supposed to unite the audience around something that concerns Battiato himself, instead it has divided this audience, which focuses too much on the simple arrangements.
  • fabriziozizzi
    9 jun 20
Yes, but it's a bit flat... you can be "simple" even with classic instruments. Too many synthesizers and samples.

    For me, two.
  • Ditta
    9 jun 20
For me, from a 4... it's true, clearly inferior compared to the albums that marked the transition to pop music, but it’s a great record.

    9 jun 20
The only flaw is that it remains a bit uneven. Still, better this than the boring Battiato of the late 70s...

    9 jun 20
    Hello? :(
  • Martello
    9 jun 20
@[italianissimo] two to the master never! I would maybe give two to some of his stuff from the 70s or even to certain other works like Ghali's album (because yes, because Ghali this time made the clams spin).
  • Kism
    9 jun 20
Just two years after "Lavoce del padrone," both this and especially "L'arca di Noe" are half disappointments. Half because there are a couple of classy moments in both... just a couple, though.

Now my only thought is to understand why this damn debaser doesn't let me modify "orizzoni" into "orizzonti." Damn.

Fabrizz, but instead of creating a separate work, couldn't you define it on the page created specifically for this album? I'm asking.
  • fabriziozizzi

I didn't know yet. I was thinking about listing the albums I own. :( I'm a bit of a mess.

Well, just for the nozzle trilogy you should be elected.

@[italianissimo] do you understand Sardinian? Actually, Baronie dialect? Because I only understand that one..
Ah no, you only understand Italian... since you're from the mainland.. what a pity :( let's go!
