In some ways, it’s his least successful album. Aside from "la storia," "a pà," and "poeti per l'estate," I’m not really convinced. 3 stars is just right.

Mh. 3 stars seem a bit few to me. I would give at least 4👐. The three you mentioned are the ones I’ve always preferred, along with the title track.
Francesco De Gregori: Alice Non Lo Sa

Francesco De Gregori: Rimmel

great album. second only to the homonymous '74 and "buffalo bill". it would be 5 stars not exactly full, but who cares.
Francesco De Gregori: Titanic

Francesco De Gregori: La Donna Cannone

Francesco De Gregori: Terra di Nessuno

hidden gem and unjustly underrated...4.5

Great bohhhh, you make me dust off this marvelous album. The last one from the prince at this level, although the ones that came after are also very good (Canzoni d'amore in prima fila above all others).
Francesco De Gregori: Amore nel Pomeriggio
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Francesco De Gregori: Mira mare 19.4.89
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
it actually suffers from a few arrangements that are a bit too pompous, but in the end, it's not bad at all. A solid 4 stars.

Franco Battiato: L'arca di Noè
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Franco Battiato: Gommalacca
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Battiato has worsened by 200% since he got together with Sgalambro. But this album is a true masterpiece, the only perfect one in every way from the latest Battiato. 5 full stars.
Franco Battiato: Fetus
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Great album, maybe still a bit unripe from a certain point of view... it will slightly improve with the next two. I would give it a solid 4 stars.
Franco Battiato: Dieci Stratagemmi
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
the best Battiato of the last twenty years, with beautiful pieces like "tra sesso e castità," "ermeneutica," "23 coppie...," "la porta dello spavento supremo," and especially "le aquile non volano a stormi." the rest also maintains a good level. 4 round balls
Franco Battiato: L'era del cinghiale bianco
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Do we need definitions?
with the namesake we had made a monstrous ball, let's add this and make two balls. inaudible, 1.
Franco Battiato: Battiato
CD Audio I have it ★
oh my god, what a couple of assholes..
Franco Battiato: Caffè de la Paix
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
beautiful record, a cap (inoino) inferior only to "fisiognomica."
Genesis: Duke
CD Audio I have it ★★★
they were already on the decline, but there were still glimpses of greatness, especially the title track. songs like "misunderstanding" are obviously unbearable. then after this, the total flood.
Genesis: Genesis
CD Audio I have it ★★
"mama" and "home by the sea/2nd home by the sea" are good songs; tracks like "that's all" are not bad, but they have nothing (absolutely NOTHING) to do with Genesis. The rest? Let's forget it... 2.5, and I'm being generous.
Genesis: Invisible Touch
CD Audio I have it ★
I believe that "Land of Confusion" is their absolute worst song. But even songs like the title track or the much-praised "In Too Deep" are no joke...

their worst song is that tongue-twister included in here... the one that live started with 3 hours of Phil gargling, which they consistently performed at every tour
  • Kism

Unlistenable album! Only "Throwing It All Away" barely saves it... the worst album by Genesis, even worse than the last one from 1997.
Genesis: Selling England By The Pound
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
yet another absolute masterpiece... imaginative
Genesis: Foxtrot
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
I believe it's my favorite Genesis album and at the same time one of the best albums ever (ABSOLUTELY), I wouldn't skip even half a song. Extraordinary.
Genesis: A Trick Of The Tail
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
the beginning of the end a couple of balls, a magnificent album from start to finish. "entangled" then...

Damn me for snubbing the post-Gabriel Genesis (I actually wrote a bunch of nonsense about this site).
Ivano Fossati: La pianta del tè
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
maturity album. the best fossati ever
Ivano Fossati: Ventilazione
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Ivano Fossati: Discanto
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
5? "lusitania", title track, "lunario di settembre", "italians of Argentina", "confession of alonso chisciano". Yes, I would say exactly 5.
Ivano Fossati: La Disciplina Della Terra
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
The eponymous song alone is worth 5 stars.
Ivano Fossati: Lampo viaggiatore
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
a step back from the extraordinary "the discipline of the land," but still amazing. quattremmezzo, "there's time," and "the kiss on the mouth" are the masterpieces of the album, without a doubt.

but yes, a meager pass is all right, especially for the second side which, excluding “in fondo alla boccia” and “l’esercito delle forchette,” is full of great tracks, shooting me down on all of them. it’s just a shame about the first side, which is markedly inferior (only “goccia a goccia” manages to save it) and has some truly, truly awful tracks (like “regina di cuori” and the first pathetic version of “ritmo...”)

“Drop by drop,” “Shoot me,” and “Doctor M.” The rest I don’t even consider.

Just shoot me and drop by drop for a very, very tight passing grade. The rest is just plain fluff.

Lucio Battisti: Anima Latina
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Everything has already been said about this record, any further word would diminish its value... 5 is also too few.
Lucio Battisti: Una Donna per Amico
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Nice album, from the period with Mogol, it remains one of the most refined, with excellent tracks like "Nessun dolore" or "Prendila così." Personally, not among my favorites. 4 stars but for excess.
Lucio Battisti: Don Giovanni
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
not a perfect album in every way, but damn, the title track is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard in my life. almost 4.5
  • Martello

One cannot hope for better. Even minor pieces like Che vita ha fatto manage to be utterly great.
Lucio Dalla: Bugie
CD Audio I have it ★★
It's a transitional album, and as such, it can either be greatly appreciated or convey little to nothing. I fall into the second category.
  • Martello

It could have been enough, but it smells too much like any random album released in the 80s.
  • Kism

After Dalla '80 (excluding "Telefonami fra 20 anni"), there was a clear decline in inspiration. New sounds, new productions—a problem that affected many artists (Bennato but also Pino). Three unsatisfying albums in three years, then the masterstroke of "Caruso" would come to reset both career and wallet!
  • bohhh
    22 jul 20
I liked "1983" quite a bit; I believe the crash will come with the (still decent) "organised trips". As for "Caruso," I just can't stand it.
Lucio Dalla: Ciao
CD Audio I have it ★
without appeal. the track "ciao" is terrifying.
Lucio Dalla: Com'è profondo il mare
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
It's impossible to give less than a 5 to this monument.
Lucio Dalla: 1983
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
the last great album by Lucio from beginning to end. seven truly inspired and always relevant tracks (title track above all). a really beautiful album. 4.5
  • Martello
    15 jul 20
It didn't seem like such a great album to me. Yes, there were some great tracks like the title track or L'altra parte del mondo (but also Camion and Solo a ripensarci), yet there were also some moments that fell short (Pecorella tackles topics handled better elsewhere, and Noi come voi didn’t grab me much).
Lucio Dalla: Viaggi Organizzati
CD Audio I have it ★★★
The album is overall decent, but clearly inferior to the previous ones, mainly due to the plasticky sounds. There are still some nice tracks (title track, "tutta la vita," "toro," "washington," and so on) unfortunately all drowned in cheesy and gaudy arrangements. It's a real shame; it could have been a great album...almost 3.5.
  • Martello
    10 jul 20
For some a piece of junk, for others a masterpiece. It’s perhaps the album that has managed to divide Dalla's audience more than any other. And anyway, I fall into the second category.
  • bohhh

For me, it's neither a masterpiece nor, for that matter, a piece of rubbish.. a good album, nothing more, nothing less.
