Queen: Queen II
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
They call it a concept album, although the real concept lies in the cover which, of course, represents Evil. The struggle between Good and Evil is just a simple concept and isn't as distinctive as that of Dark Side Of The Moon or The Wall; however, setting aside the concept, its content is very original and striking, and it truly features a variety of genres.

And then there's White Queen...a stunning piece, both sweet and epic, a beautiful melody, Freddie and Brian shining. When they did away with baroque excesses and eccentric embellishments, they had no equals.

White Queen certainly deserves a mention, as does Seven Seas Of Rhye; although White Queen could be considered the "best piece" of the album (for the distinction between Good and Evil). I prefer both White Queen and Seven Seas Of Rhye because I love how Freddie sings in various ways: one very melodic and the other in a tougher and more gritty manner.

"White Queen" is simply the most beautiful song they have ever written, especially that May has ever written! Right behind it is the Black Queen.

I must have tucked that lovely CD away somewhere (bought only because it was on sale at Panorama years and years ago), but may I be doubly cursed if I remember where.
