Talk Talk: Spirit Of Eden
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Nostalgic, atmospheric, with muted colors of a nineteenth-century novel. I stand like autumn leaves on the trees.....

For a long time, I've been looking for a record with similar sounds, but I still haven't succeeded.

If you don't know them, try Bark Psychosis and in particular "Hex," a true masterpiece.
  • SalvaDM
    26 aug 16
Yes, I know 'Hex' quite well. But for me, it doesn’t reach the heights of the last two works by Talk Talk.

"Spirit of Eden" cannot be beaten.

Absolutely. For me, Hollis's voice is truly magnificent.
Talk Talk: The Colour Of Spring
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Masterpiece. One of the absolute milestones of the 80s.
The Alan Parsons Project: I Robot

Very beautiful and varied album... 8/10
The Alan Parsons Project: Pyramid

.....where among the credits the name of the saxophonist does not appear (The Gold Bug). A French boy who participated in the session but whose identity was completely forgotten afterward. Crazy, but that’s how it was.

I've always appreciated Alan Parsons a lot.
In my opinion, it's his best along with the previous one. "Silence and I" is perhaps his most complete piece along with "The Turn.." 9/10

I believe the following one, 'Ammonia Avenue,' is better.
The Arcade Fire: Funeral
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Good job, energetic and lively, with an effective structure. For me, however, it's not a masterpiece, unlike the following one.

Both great, then the slow but steady decline.
The Cars: Heartbeat City
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
An 80s classic. 8.5
THE CLASH: The Clash
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
One of the most powerful records in history, definitely my absolute favorite "punk" record to date (even though there's much more in there). Both versions of the album are lethal, true "power banks."
The Flaming Lips: American Head
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
The Magnetic Fields: 69 love songs
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
This record is long and boring, but I love it when you sing it for me!
The Strokes: The New Abnormal
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Alone, a true masterpiece of VU, a truly stunning and original debut, as well as one of the most important albums in the history of rock.
Revolutionary both in music and themes, but I believe the average quality of the songs is rather poor, as is the production.
P.S.: The longest and most epic piece ever does indeed have the initials "S" and "R", but it's not "Sister Ray", which only needed 5 minutes :)
Rating 3/5, no... actually... 2/5.
This is my opinion. Now MAGNATEMI.

I was kidding... everyone thinks as they want... and then you can hardly find anyone who talks badly about this album, so it's all good... otherwise, we just end up giving each other blowjobs...

The fair of nonsense between fuggi and bonny, what an epic clash. Just kidding though, bonny, but who do you think you are, the first one who doesn’t like VUs? Pfft, amateur. @[Cunnuemammadua] I care about you. No seriously, tastes are fine and all but I personally don’t understand how you can perceive such a detachment between the first one and this one which, yes, is more extreme, but whatever... But the world is beautiful because it’s diverse. And fuggi, stop with these sh*tty comments, I care about you but some of those remarks are just pitiful.

But it’s not the most extreme part that I dislike. It’s the rest that I think is a bit dull, and in particular I can’t stand "here she comes now," almost like a song by Biagio Antonacci.

I listened to this album carefully again. It's influential, perhaps even more than the first one, but much less essential. That said, the 2 might have been an exaggeration.
The Who: My Generation

The Who: Who's Next

when it comes to discussing this album, even those who give it a 4 are detractors...
Tim Buckley: Starsailor
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
When I listen to this album, I feel like I’m on the bank of a river/lake of stagnant water, surrounded by bamboo reeds, in a landscape where the predominant color is a dull yellow. It's amazing how music can be so evocative sometimes... What do you see in this album? (besides a masterpiece)
Tim Buckley: Happy Sad
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
This is for me his best album. Nostalgic folk blues of incredible intensity. Dream Letter is one of the 5 most moving songs ever written.

Toto: Hydra
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Can you tell me where I might find the Hydra?
Toto: Isolation
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Heavily underrated by critics, Isolation is an album that leans more towards the roots of pure rock than AOR (compared to the other Toto albums). A full 5 Stars (the first five Toto albums and The Seventh One are, in my opinion, yet another demonstration of one of the greatest AOR bands of all time).

I also hear a lot of Free-Jazz in it.
  • the best album by Toto, with the best lineup. Hjhhjij, you’ve slightly broken my balls with this free-jazz nonsense.
