U2: The Joshua Tree
CD Audio I have it ★★★
Commercial disco. Well played, but of mediocre creativity. Success sought out in an exaggerated manner and achieved. Bono was already acting like a little diva.

Edge had already exasperated me by then.

There's nothing to say about personal tastes; what I disagree with is labeling this album as mediocre in terms of creativity. Each song, by the way produced by Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois, has its own precise and recognizable style, ranging from gospel to rock to new wave, with acoustic textures of rare beauty, as in the concluding Mothers of Disappeared dedicated to the victims of South American dictatorships. For me, it will forever remain a masterpiece. Goodbye dear, with no hard feelings, of course.

Well, that definition seems a bit unfair to me; together with The Unforgettable Fire and Achtung Baby, it forms an excellent trio, come on, they should be criticized after U2.

The intro of "Where the Streets Have No Name" is perhaps the most beautiful thing they have ever done, that rhythm that slowly builds, smoothly transitioning from three-four time to four-four time is truly unique. I definitely prefer U2 from the 90s, but I can't help but love this album. ;)

Well, I agree that this album is nothing special.
