The Jesus And Mary Chain: Darklands
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
The two Reid brothers, one on vocals and the other on guitar, look deep within and pull out this decadently ecstatic gem, this introspective journey made of reverberations and honey, of poetry and sadness. So, somewhat quietly, away from the spotlight, the charts, and the mainstream, like everything full of 'heart', it bursts forth in all its darkly radiant beauty.

For those who love raw rock, without elaborate decorative touches or merely technical virtuosic incursions, the Kills have represented a genuine breath of fresh air in the new millennium.
The revolution of '68 could have happened two years earlier if only people had understood the sound of the Monks.

If it were easy to understand the sound of the Monks, apart from "Complication," which remains their only drinkable track.

The Pretty Things: S.F. Sorrow
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Musically, S.F. Sorrow marks an important point of contact between post-beat experiences and the birth of psychedelia. Ultimately, it's an album that is not only extraordinarily important from a historical perspective but certainly rich, vibrant, magnetic, and multifaceted. An unrepeatable masterpiece that masterfully combines experimentation and melody, prog tendencies and catchiness, enchanting and provoking reflection while ruthlessly reminding us of the transience of human existence, coldly governed by chance.

A bit the "third pole" among the representative albums of English psychedelia during that period, along with Pink Floyd and The Beatles.

One of the most beautiful albums of the '60s in the realm of psychedelia, or rather, one of my favorites.

By the way, during their Garage period, they released "Get The Picture," which is another masterpiece.

If "Get the Picture?" (after all, why the eponymous first one?) doesn't turn an evening into one where you're leaping from your chair and moving your head, arms, and legs uncontrollably, it means you're dead and don't know it ;) Two albums that, along with the Kinks-like "Kontroversy" and the already varied "Face to Face," force you to ask: "Are you sure the best was Beatles vs. Stones?"

He he he, and must the first alternative necessarily be represented by The Who? Anyway, the first one is beautiful but not yet a masterpiece; the second one is, dominated more by authorship than by reinterpretation. Their "Aftermath," perhaps less imaginative, but ahead of "Aftermath" in terms of maturity.
Creators of an obsessive and hypnotic sound, capable of combining psychedelia and dark punk, pop and glam rock, the Psychedelic Furs were one of the most original bands of the eighties.

If the Devil himself had grown tired of playing the blues in the Mississippi Delta and decided to move to swinging London in the early sixties, perhaps among the bands of the moment he would have chosen the Rolling Stones.

Probably the best of the stones. "I bet yo mama don't know you scream like that." Essential.

It's really difficult to say which is the best of the Stones, especially when there are masterpieces like Aftermath, Let it bleed, Sticky Fingers, and Exile. In any case, Beggars Banquet is an outstanding album with a nod to some less celebrated but for me beautiful tracks like Stray Cat Blues, No Expectations, and Jigsaw Puzzle.

yes, aftermath is the apotheosis, this confirms it, let it bleed perfection :)
In the years to come, the Rolling Stones would navigate through psychedelia, create that other superb masterpiece known as "Beggars Banquet," and usher rock into the Seventies, ultimately sacrificing themselves in their last great album: "Exile On Main Street" (1972). But that is another story. These ten (or fourteen) tracks ooze freshness and still speak to new generations, teaching them what it means to make music an art.
The human disease is difficult to narrate without falling into the most sordid rhetoric. Billy Corgan has succeeded in this intent.

"Only a hundred people bought the first Velvet Underground record, but each of those hundred today is either a music critic or a rock musician."
(Brian Eno)
It is my firm intention to eradicate the widespread bad habit where those who have only the first album and none of the other Velvet Underground records can feel at peace with their conscience.
It is my goal to educate on the advantages and pleasures of owning the second work, "White Light/White Heat."

I believe the names of Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page, guitarists who have taken turns within the group's lineup, are sufficient to convey how significant this band's activity has been.

In the mid-'80s, it was difficult to sing in Italian within a rock context. They looked at you as if you were an alien and predicted little success and a relatively miserable life full of hardship. But we are stubborn.”

Mork, Joe, supermarket, Vincent Gallo blues, Ferlinghetti blues, Mexico, dimmed sun... A cultured, psychedelic, carnal and sensual album, angry, inspired... Only a few paid attention to it. For me, it's one of the masterpieces of Italian alternative music. Long live Omar!
