Ac/Dc: Live
CD Audio I have it ★★★
Even though I'm not a huge fan of the band in question, every now and then, especially in the car, I gladly put on this double live album, which gathers all the band's most famous and iconic songs. From "Shoot to Thrill" to "Moneytolks", "Hells Bells" and "Sin City". It's a very energetic and raw live performance, definitely a more than sufficient album.

"Moneytalks" over time has stopped appealing to me, like practically all the songs from the Johnson era (except, of course, Back In Black, You Shock Me All Night Long, Hell's Bells, and Thunderstruck). In any case, one of the best bands in the genre, absolutely a must-listen live, as well as "If You Want Blood."
AFTERHOURS: Quello che non c'è
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
A dark and disillusioned album, with hard and raw lyrics and dense, full sounds, thanks in part to the increasingly central role of Dario Ciffo's electric violin. Following the exit of Xabier Iriondo, Manuel's role as the sole guitarist becomes even more significant. The result is nonetheless surprising, with songs like the title track that will go down in history as one of the best Italian pieces ever. Definitely an album to have in the collection of anyone who loves Italian alternative rock.
I’ve never fully embraced this album, even though I love the After to bits. The sound is overly polished, resulting in just a big mess, and the songs are boring and trivial. Personally, I only save "E' solo febbre," "Dove si va da qui," "Tutto domani," and the title track. The rest is a disappointment. But we can forgive them a misstep, right!!!!!!

I give it a 1 because the album really sucks, have you listened to it?
Afterhours: Germi
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
First album in Italian for After (1994) after their debut in English. A powerful and hard-hitting album, featuring several gems (Strategie, Dentro Marylin, Ossigeno, POP...). It's a shame that live they have almost completely abandoned this album, which we can consider not only a good work but also a stepping stone to the magnificent "Hai paura del buio?" from '97.
Afterhours: Non è per sempre
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
It's hard to maintain the same level as the previous work (Are you afraid of the dark?), but the After continue their metamorphosis. In fact, each album is quite different from the ones before, with very different sounds and styles. This is a work that is surely less experimental and more POP. Nevertheless, I think it's a really good piece of work, with beautiful tracks like "Bianca," "Oceano di gomma," "Non si esce vivi dagli anni '80," "Tutto fa un po' male," and the final track "Cose semplici e banali." The title track is stunning live.
Afterhours: Hai paura del buio?
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
In my opinion, the best work by Afterhours, along with the latest album Padania. Definitely a must-have for those who love a somewhat unique and alternative rock. P.S. I adore Afterhours.
Afterhours: Padania
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
After the incredibly disappointing "I milanesi ammazzano il Sabato" of 2008, here comes the old Manuel Agnelli, at the ripe age of 45, back to make us dream...in my opinion, one of the most complete albums by the Milanese band, with the return of the great Xabier Iriondo on guitar...a must-have CD!
Bruce Springsteen: 18 Tracks
CD Audio I have it ★★★
Honest collection of B-sides, and some rearrangements of more famous tracks (e.g. acoustic version of Born in the USA). Nice collection, especially considering that I bought it for € 4.99!!!!

that thing on the cover I gifted to my parents when I was in high school. There were 66 songs and I paid like eighty thousand lire for it. Shitty Christmas.

With all the collections and little collections that old Bruce has made, it's easy to get confused...
Franco Battiato: La Cura
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Beautiful collection from the brilliant Sicilian singer-songwriter. Enriched by several truly amazing live tracks. Recommended.
guns n' roses: live era '87-'93
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
An electrifying and engaging live performance... a fairly rich setlist (even though "civil war," which I think is stunning, is missing...) beautiful live versions of "november rain" with a very long piano intro, and "don't cry" played and sung in a way that's definitely less syrupy and much more intense than the original... definitely an album to have for fans of the genre.
Il Teatro Degli Orrori: Il Mondo Nuovo
CD Audio I have it ★★★
It took me a few months to digest this "brick" of 16 tracks and over 70 minutes, but in the end, I find it at least satisfactory. There are some dull moments like the very slow "Ion," but a few gems too ("Io cerco te," "non vedo l'ora," "Doris"). In my opinion, it's the worst of the three releases by Capovilla & Company so far.
Great debut album from the group led by Pierpaolo Capovilla, 11 tracks all beautiful, especially "Dio mio," "E lei venne," "Lezione di musica," and "La canzone di Tom." An opening with the first 6 tracks very violent and fast, a closing with increasingly slow and melancholic melodies... definitely a very good job!
Il Teatro Degli Orrori: A Sangue Freddo

Show!!!! Melodic traces alternate with heavy pieces for a great overall result. The more I listen to it, the more I like it!!! Highly recommended.
Iron Maiden: Brave New World
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
I will definitely go against the grain, and the most die-hard Maiden fans will curse me, but in my opinion, it's the best work the band has ever done. All 10 tracks are beautiful (perhaps only "The Nomad" is a bit lacking), and the cover makes me drool; in fact, I also have the poster in my bedroom...great album with Bruce's return on vocals (year 2000).

I couldn't care less if you want to go against the tide or if you have the poster on your wall; if it’s an album that lifted you up in your youth, that’s fine. But, if we need to be objective, this album is rounded down to three and a half balls. And I know why dear Bruzio came back ($$$$$$)

Kiss: Double Platinum
CD Audio I have it ★★★
I have read and heard around the web that Kiss is just a commercial and image phenomenon, but after listening to this compilation of 20 tracks, I am convinced that even from a musical standpoint, they are not a negligible band. Beautiful "I want you" and "Black diamond." An honest compilation, especially good for approaching the discography of Simmons & Co.
Massimo Volume: Lungo I Bordi
CD Audio I have it ★★
I have read and heard excellent things about this work, but after several months of repeated and persistent listening, I still haven't digested it... perhaps spoken music rather than sung music doesn't fully convince me. The lyrics, however, are beautiful.
Ministri: Tempi bui
CD Audio I have it ★★★
Second album by the band, definitely not up to the level of the first but still enjoyable. Horrible track 4 "la faccia di Briatore," probably one of the worst songs ever...
Ministri: I soldi sono finiti
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
The first work of the Milanese band. Definitely the best of the 3 releases. A badass album, pure rock and the singer's voice is beautiful... overall, 4 stars are well deserved! Stunning "abituarsi alla fine."
Moby: Play
CD Audio I have it ★★★
If the album had only 10-11 tracks instead of 18, there would be 5 balls... unfortunately, several pieces give a strong impression of being "fillers," and the album seems a bit verbose in my opinion. However, it’s still another enjoyable and listenable record.

I agree. The singles are nice, but the rest has a few salvageable tracks and quite a few fillers. Overall, I find it an overrated album, deserving of three stars, no more.
Pink Floyd: Echoes
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
I must admit my ignorance regarding Pink Floyd, as I only own this collection of the band. However, it seems to me that the collection is quite complete, featuring tracks from the 70s up to 1994, and it's very enjoyable. "Echoes," "Comfortably Numb," "Shine On You Crazy Diamond," and "High Hopes," especially with that spectacular final guitar solo... great album!

As a starting point, it can work... it's a fairly good and complete collection... but to really know Pink Floyd, a simple compilation made just to sell like this isn't enough... The reason is that their early works contain long and erratic suites that can't be contained in a compilation... and then because their concepts like Dark Side were born as homogeneous works meant to be listened to as they were conceived; otherwise, they convey little or nothing... so if you're interested in them, start with an album... and slowly you'll understand what I mean... bye, sorry for the bother :)

Thanks for the suggestion... which album do you recommend to get started??
  • Pink84
    5 nov 12
Hi… so… it's not easy to give a definitive suggestion on which "useful" album to start listening to the Floyd… the reason lies in the fact that their early works are highly psychedelic and wonderfully inconsistent… their later works are more formal and accessible at least up until 1975 with Wish You Were Here… so it's up to you to decide whether to start with the debut featuring Syd Barrett, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn (1967)… or from the period with a more classic sound starting from Meddle (1971)… I got to know them through The Wall and The Dark Side of the Moon… I hope I’ve been helpful…

the piper is from 1967 sorry for the mistake... :) and by the way, for the works of the second part of the career I add that they are "splendidly formal and more accessible"... in short, delving into the musical world of Pink Floyd is full of surprises :) bye
Red Hot Chili Peppers: Californication
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
In my opinion, the masterpiece of this group that has recently worsened significantly... all the tracks are very catchy and enjoyable. Perhaps the only one that leaves something to be desired is "get on top," but everything else is very smooth and well-arranged... except for the singer's voice, which has never really convinced me too much.
A pure show. 3 ciddì and about fifty tracks, all beautiful. Legendary Rino, a highly recommended album.
Scorpions: Tokyo Tapes
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Pure spectacle. Having stated that I adore the early period of the Scorpions' long career, this is a sort of best of the band's 70s era. Great live performances with the genius Uli Roth on guitar...
The Cure: Greatest Hits
CD Audio I have it ★★★
I've grown up with this Ciddì, so there's a certain emotional attachment... it's a nice collection of historical pieces, even if it misses my favorite by The Cure, which is "Burn" (the one that was the soundtrack for "The Crow," just to be clear).
Zucchero: BlueSugar
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
I'm very attached to this album, as it was like the second one I bought with my pocket money as a kid... apart from that, I think it's one of the most beautiful works of the Emilian panzerotto! Beautiful especially "puro amore," "arcord," "dopo di noi," and "temporaneamente x sempre tuo." Awful instead is "karma stai calma."
ZZ Top: The Best of ZZ Top
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Nice collection of blues rock from real American bikers... but can someone tell me if their beards are real or not????
