R.E.M.: Collapse into Now
CD Audio Not intrested ★★★
Even though they still produce a few great tracks, the rest is dishearteningly bland. I agree with their decision to disband.

I really liked it, I dare say it's the best since "New adventures in hi-fi."

I don't know the others well enough to vote for them, but if that's the case...poor them!

In fact, the only truly terrible one is Around the Sun; the others are still good (especially Reveal and Accelerate). However, I find this one more accomplished, complete.

Then I will listen to them better!
Red Hot Chili Peppers: Blood Sugar Sex Magic
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Despite the considerable commercial appeal, we have some incredible musicians here who have found an overwhelming formula: rhythmic, sparkling, ironic, grandiloquent, and at the same time tremendously refined (sometimes teetering on the edge of prog!). Beautiful album, although a bit too long.
Renaissance: Novella
Vinile I have it ★★★★★
Fairy-tale like yet surprisingly contemporary, and musically suspended between folk, jazz, and symphonic prog: although generally underrated, this album is a little gem.

I love this album, I know every note of it. I own both the English and the American vinyl, with similar graphic concepts but different designs.

I only have their first self-titled album with the original lineup, and I have to say I really like it, but I haven't delved deeper into their work...

Starting from 1972, Renaissance becomes a completely different band, equally valid (I also like the early Renaissance, the ones with Relf) but very different. It offers something, it’s romantic prog, symphonic but devoted to melodic lines divided between classical echoes (with some clear cultured citations), folk, and high-class pop. And, now and then, something a bit more "rocking" like the title track of "Ashes Are Burning" and especially this cool piece here (perhaps THE Renaissance track for me) featuring the synthesizer of special guest Francis Monkman

And by "another band," I mean that the lineup changes completely; they have started from scratch.
