Genesis: Trespass
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Already a masterpiece, despite the less elaborate arrangements, the compositions possess a delicacy, a grace, and a lyricism that are at times overwhelming.

The less elaborate arrangements come from a more folk style compared to the later ones. For the rest, you are absolutely right, already a masterpiece.

Alright, they were also younger and less experienced! As much as I appreciate Mayhew on this album, despite everyone blaming him, the difference is definitely noticeable!

after they reached perfection, but the sounds and atmospheres of this album remain unsurpassed in my opinion

I agree word for word. I love this album. I enjoy Mayhew's unrefined yet energetic drumming. I wouldn't underestimate Phillips' contribution to the composition either. If this album is different from the others, it's probably because it also bears his mark. For goodness' sake, Hackett's work on SEBTP and TLLDOB is out of this world; it would have been a real shame not to have been able to hear it. I just read about the song dedicated to Gabriel's future wife... could it be that he left for sentimental reasons? :)

No, trust me, he left for totally different reasons (especially since a few years later Gabriel started writing and recording songs and demos in Ant's home studio) :-) Ah, Phillips' contribution here is central and fundamental; underestimating it would be rather foolish. This is "his" album in a sense.
Green Day: American Idiot
CD Audio Not intrested ★★★★
The album is truly a disaster in many ways, but it doesn't lack intense moments, and indeed, some that are genuinely moving. The credit goes solely to the songwriting and the frontman's performance. The singles are nice, along with a few other tracks, among which I highlight "Letterbomb" and "Give Me Novacaine."

    a disaster and four stars?

Well, there are really a lot of things that don’t work (few ideas, few changes, pieces that are too long stuck together with tape) but in the end, it works! It was one of my favorites when I was younger, and now that I’m more mature I’ve listened to it again, and despite realizing the significant stylistic limitations, I still really enjoyed it.

You're right about the songs that are really too long that I still can't remember after years, like Homecoming. I just listened to it again today when I went to the gym, and I have to say I enjoyed it; it was nice to hear it after so long. Flaws or not, it remains the best along with Dookie.

I mean, it has its moments too, but amidst some truly embarrassing passages, the grand finale, like an end-section of a progressive suite, is unbelievably boring...and the album has its share of other disjointed episodes. But as you say, it remains one of their best.
Green Day: 21st Century Breakdown
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Still in a state of grace, Green Day deliver a monumental concept that, without renouncing their style, offers an endless series of songs that are sometimes more robust, sometimes more diverse, but almost always very successful, refusing to succumb to inertia and presenting intricate and dynamic tracks. Billie Joe's songwriting is consistently tense and dramatic, evoking great emotions at various moments.

I remember the single "21 Guns" (I admit, back in 2009 I was a bit immersed in the mainstream; I have my skeletons in the closet too). A classic disposable sappy song... I cordially make you a proposal: why don't you sell me the eponymous album by Jackson C. Frank? It's a hard-to-find record that means a lot to me.

I don't have anything against folk songwriting, and I'm not a fan of punk, but sure, I would make the swap.

So you own the record and you would be willing to let me have it, right?

The GreenDay that deliver great emotions, wow… Did you happen to eat something heavy?

I don't mind this album at all, but a 5? Absolutely not (and I even have the shirt, the album cover is really cool). The best ones remain Dookie and American Idiot, now those deserve a 5, especially Dookie :)
guano apes: proud like a god
CD Audio I lack ★★★★
Undoubtedly interesting alternative album, merging the rough intensity of metal, a fantastic funky bassist, and the personal interpretation of the singer Sandra Nasic. There aren't many truly good tracks, the highs often seem naive or lackluster, but the work is cohesive, the style recognizable with some good attempts to go beyond the song structure.
