You really have to care about the '70s b movies to appreciate it. Keep in mind that it was originally supposed to be an episode but was stretched out to be released as a feature film, separate from Planet Terror. So it lost quite a bit...

Rewatched yesterday on Network 4 after years, I can only reiterate the point: absolutely overrated. If it weren't for Tarantino's name on it, it would have ended up in the trash as a piece of junk. I understand his well-known passion for quotes and fetish, but to spend an entire film framing feet from every angle and, above all, to insert so many quotes and copy so many scenes FROM HIS OWN PREVIOUS FILMS is inexcusable. I love the Tarantino of Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, and Jackie Brown because he created a whole new style of filmmaking with them. Grindhouse, on the other hand, demonstrates great banality and predictability. I do appreciate the scene of the head-on car crash; I admit I liked it a lot, but apart from that, there are too many show-offs with the shots and 'vintage' photography, excessive and heavy dialogues, and I repeat toooooo many quotes.

Yes, but the shots of the feet are amazing, I totally get it :D

this is crap (otherwise, it’s not like he made anything less than a beautiful film), it only appeals to the fans, because fans (fanatics) are narrow-minded by definition ;)

Anyway, "only" referring to Tarantino's fans seems excessive to me, considering there will be millions.

but also on the fact that it’s a piece of shit regardless or almost, objectively speaking, I have my doubts. the final chases have an exceptional technical level.
